ABSTRACT:In order to satisfy the energy demand of our country's economy and increase the transport capacity, the DaQin line use LOCOTROL to extend the length of locomotive HXDI. LOCOTROL system is one of the most advanced power distribution systems in the world, and mainly be used in single-line heavy rail transport. In this paper, a module test platform has been designed basing on the analysis of LOCOTROL modules with HXDI electric locomotive, which is used to diagnose and test the important modules independently.Firstly, the working principle of LOCOTROL system is introduced; secondly, the specific function of each module and failure records are analyzed. Finally, simple and practical modules diagnose program is designed. At last, the testing platform and supporting PC software have been built. The module testing platform includes the design of power system, the testing program of each module, software program and interface.The power supplies the power for all equipments, such as IPC (Industrial Personal Computer), programable power, and LOCOTROL modules. The core of the module testing platform is IPC, which consists of digital and analog input and output boards and the development of IPC control software. With all these above, the platform can complete the RIM, PDM, CPM and MIPM module diagnostic. The PCI-8325A card, with 16-channel isolated digital I/O and 16-channel double-ended or 32-channel single-ended analog voltage acquisition, is used for I/O operation and analog voltage acquisition of the platform. ISA-6407 board supplies 32-channel digital output. PCI card with 6 serial ports is used to communicate with the programmable supply, micro-ohmmeter, CPM and MIPM module and so on.The paper finished the testing platform of LOCOTROL module, which can complete the RIM, PDM, CPM and MIPM module diagnose and test independently. The interface software of IPC, designed with VC++Language, is simple and easy to use. Test results are exported in graphical and tabular, with good readability. The program with the modularized program methods, is fit for both the debugging of LOCOTROL modules testing software, the future maintenance and upgrades.
