To support Chinese strong economic growth,the DaQin line operations can be improved to operate the 20kton train by doubling the size of HX_D1 trains. LOCOTROL system,one of the most advanced power distribution systems in the world, has been installed into each unit of the HX_D1 locomotives.It provides full control of one lead and up to three remote locomotives throughout a train.The LOCOTROL system integrates with the traction system,pneumatic locomotive brake system and various locomotive controls to control both the lead and remote locomotives in a synchronous mode of operation.In this paper,a test platform is designed basing on the practical application of LOCOTROL system and on-site problems of HX_D1 locomotives for system testing and simulation operation.This paper firstly introduces LOCOTROL system and the principle of the LOCOTROL modules.The functions of each module are introduced so as to summarize the types of the control signals of the HX_D1 type locomotives.Finally,the LOCOTROL test platform is designed basing on the above conclusions.The test platform consists of power system,the LOCOTROL system which is the same with the LOCOTROL system in actual locomotives,and simulated CCU system.The simulated CCU system,based on the MVB network protocol,is the central control system of the platform.The core of the system is IPC,which consists of MVB network card and 32-channel isolated digital I/O board and 16-channel analog acquisition card.The PC is used for simulating the operation of CCU,sending out a variety of status commands of the locomotive.The 32-channel isolated digital I/O board is mainly used for monitoring the switch.And analog acquisition card is used for acquisitions of the analog signals of the test platform, and provideing the visual data for the operation and control of the platform.This paper makes the test centralized and visually.The interface software is designed by VC++ Language.A standard hardware interface is provided so as to make the modules connect to the platform easily and reliably.The program is divided into several blocks so that it makes the debugging of the LOCOTROL system,future maintenance and upgrades more convenient.
