Because of shortage of petroleum sources and deterioration of environment, diesel engine controlled by electronic control technology becomes a new focus with development of electronic control theory. This thesis mainly researches electronic control technology based on electronic unit pump(EUP) for diesel locomotive engine (12V240ZJ6E) in china in order to improve performance of diesel locomotive engine. The major achievements of this research could be summarized as follows.Firstly, based on operating principle of fuel injection control system of diesel engine, it develops transfer disciplinarian of high pressure fuel in pump-pipe-nozzle system. The EUP system is adopted according to application of electronic control technology for diesel engine all over the world. Control law is summarized after analyzing the characteristic of the EUP.Secondly, a solenoid drive module is designed which performance influences dynamic response for solenoid. Optimum circuit parameters and control parameters are found through calculating and testing for different drive voltage and continuous-current circuits so that the solenoid drive module could match for the EUP. In addition, the solenoid drive module could co-control every EUP in multi-cylinder diesel engine.Thirdly, a speed measuring module of cam shaft is designed which could calculate and forecast the speed of cam shaft in diesel engine. The speed of cam shaft in diesel engine is a key parameter for diesel engine control which is forecasted through adaptive parameter updating method. A control circuit with digital signal processor is designed in which calculating and forecasting for the speed of cam shaft and generation of pulse width modulation (PWM) of solenoid is finished.After that, the basic characteristics of EUP system are comprehended and electronic control unit (ECU) is successfully finished. The basic functions of ECU such as forecasting the speed of cam shaft and generating the PWM of solenoid have been already validated in the testing bench of the EUP. Conclusion indicates that the speed measuring module works well and the PWM of solenoid is reasonable.
