AS a well known poet in the Qing Dynasty, Yuan Mei was very famous for his opinions about expressing natural disposition and intelligence specially and his work on it. There are hundreds of research articles on his opinions about poems, his poems, his experience and his creative groups. But what I want to argument here is the diet culture in his poems.Yuan Mei lived a life from a poor situation to a rich one. But he read so many famous works which written by the sages and the virtuous and those books influenced him a lot. Based on them, he wrote a book about cooking in which he cherished t all kinds of things in nature. Yuan Mei also made lots of friends who were very familiar with the cooking culture. At the meanwhile, Yuan Mei enjoyed travelling, so he could taste kinds of delicious food in different places and different people's families. In this way, his opinions about cooking were much more representative and more extensive. The argument takes the diet culture in Yuan Mei's articles as the object of study which includes the poems, notes on poets and poetry, correspondence and recipe. Also I take other literary works of Yuan Mei and the people in his period as the proofs. So I divide it in to four parts to present it specifically. All what I want to talk about are the basic information about Yuan's diet culture, his views on wine ,the relationship between his food and drinks and his social intercourse ,and the diet culture in his Menus of Sui Yuan .Chapter One in this part I want to talk about the basic information about his diet culture. They both prepare food by themselves, and both Seder are girls of the family can write poetry. The second chapter deals with Yuan Mei and wine culture. Unique concept of Yuan Mei's drinking is worth exploring. He claims not to drink wine but he was close to it. He can't drink too much but he can't go without it. He was opposed to drinking, but liked to watch other people drink. In the"Poetry of the small Cangshan room"he referred to his experience of drinking repeatedly, and he left lots of writing about wine. So we can his paradox outlook about anti-drinking wine. He showed a unique wine culture for us to understand the authors and the wine culture to develop a new vision. This chapter discusses Yuan Mie's introduction on wine tasting, drinking concept of and his drinking anecdotes. The third chapter discusses Yuan Mei's diet and his Communication.
