Development And Application Of Enterprise GIS System Based On ArcGIS Server

With the enlargement of enterprise business, GIS is moving from project GIS and department GIS towards Enterprise GIS. Because of the problems of data and service share and management in huge enterprise, neither of them can meet increase of enterprise business and require of data sharing. As a result, constructing a unite enterprise GIS system, to handle and manage all the inside business of enterprise, achieve the data seamless share which is storied in different department, reduce the cost of management and maintenance of data and service inside enterprise, is one of the newest trends of the development of GIS science.This thesis based on introduce the function and characteristic of enterprise GIS, gives the basic architecture of enterprise GIS, summarise the current research progress and future trends of both national and international wide enterprise GIS research field. And then, author brings forward the solution and technologies in development of enterprise GIS system based on ArcGIS Server platform. And then, it gives an example for application in Chongming Ecological Security and Alarm GIS system.This thesis is consists of 5 chapters. Chapter 1 is the introduction of the definition and features of enterprise GIS. It also summarises the current research progress and future trends of both national and international wide enterprise GIS research field. Meanwhile the research target and main research content were brought forward based on the above background. Chapter 2 introduces the ArcGIS Server which provides a platform to develop enterprise GIS application. It also includes the key technology in the development. Chapter 3 listed the procedures of Chongming Ecological Security and Alarm GIS system development design, including the system general design, system database design the development technology. Chapter 4 introduces the detailed application of the system in population capacity analysis, ecological risk assessment, environment pollution assessment, ecological security alarm and so on. And then, it also introduce how to manage and share the spatial data and attribute data stored in different departments by metadata management system. Chapter 5 summarizes the revolutions and shortages of this paper and gives the possible perspectives of future researches.The innovative aspect of the research is that: the author brings forward a series of criterion and key technology to construct the enterprise GIS based ArcGIS Serverplatform and develop the Chongming Ecological Security and Alarm GIS system to resolve the problem of difficult to manage and share data and services in different departments. And then, the method to construct GIS platform to centralize all the data sharing and services management reduces the redundancy of data and services and the cost of system management and maintenance.
