Scientific quality-oriented education is the leading direction of the scientific education's reform and development in the world of today. It is also one of the major subjects in the research of physical education's reform. Its further study has substantial significance in the construction of world-future-oriented system of physical education in china and in the promotion of reforming teaching contents as well as curriculum system. At present, the width and depth of study in scientific quality-oriented education are quite limited, especially in that of subject education that deserves further research. Based upon the standing of the preceding station, this thesis is to do some research on the relationship between the physical education and cultivation of college students' scientific quality, with the aim of contributing to the development of Chinese physical education and the improvement of college students' scientific quality.By elaborating the present condition and developing tendency of scientific education around the world, this thesis first analyses the reality of the scientific quality of average Chinese citizens, and points out that if we want to uplift the scientific quality of ordinary Chinese citizens, it's important to foster and improve college students' scientific quality that lies in subject education. Then it points out that the physical education is not only the channel to teach students physics, but also the significant means and approach to cultivate college students' scientific quality.Chapter I. Starting with the relationship between physical education and physics, it proves the importance of physical education in the cultivation of capable people and elaborates the primary intention of physical education by highlighting physics' position and function in the history of scientific development.Chapter II. It summarizes the meanings of scientific quality and the education of that, based upon which it puts forward the goals for college students to achieve.Chapter III. It generalizes and proves the main contents of the scientific quality cultivation in physical education. According to that, it proposes some methods and ways for cultivation college students' scientific quality in physical education. 1) Applying scientific quality cultivation to physical methodological teaching;2) Applying scientific quality cultivation to physical experimental teaching;3) Applying scientific quality cultivation to physical historical teaching;4) Applying scientific quality cultivation to physical top knowledge's teaching;Furthermore, it points out that physical teachers should first improve themselves when cultivating students' scientific quality.Chapter IV. It lists several problems concerning the scientific quality-oriented education practice in physical education. Then according to the need of the society's development and quality-oriented education, it puts forward an opinion of combining the physical education with STS education in physical education practice. In the end, it emphasized that fostering college students' scientific quality is an omnibearing, long-term, continuable and complicated systematic project, in which physical education is the most important part, but not just confined to such a field.
