Mathematics education, which has been through centuries of development and reformation, presents four major trends at the beginning of this century, including internationalization, popularization, specialization and theorization. On one hand, every country invests large amount of money and labor to its development and reformation in mathematics education. On the other hand, instead of former blind way of developing, mathematicians and educationalists in different courtiers are more likely to learn from each other to find the most compatible way of mathematics education for their own countries. They reach a consensus that mathematical modeling plays an important role in mathematics education, therefore, is also very meaningful for a country's technical development and talents' quality education. This thesis puts its emphasis on the role of mathematical modeling education in students' quality training.First, we introduce the origin of education and its definition given by Chinese and western ideologists and educationists. Then we gave a brief analysis to education of mathematics and relevant studies about it. Our country's study about education of mathematics endured great changes in modern times; the scope, aims, characters and methods of studies go through radical changes and constant integration of other subjects makes mathematics education becomes an integrated subject. As a result, its strength of doing research becomes constantly strengthened. Secondly, our discussions of mathematical modeling education include the following aspects: 1) The cognition of mathematics education and mathematical modeling education. 2) The theoretical analysis to educational significance of mathematical modeling education. 3) The empirical analysis of mathematical modeling activities.4) The strategies of implementing mathematical modeling activities. 5) The prospects of reformation of mathematical modeling and advanced mathematics education.Thirdly, focusing on the employment of college students, we analyzed the influence of mathematical modeling education on students overall quality. Through theoretical analysis to quality, quality edu- cation, mathematical quality and culture of mathematics, four major effects of mathematical modeling education were revealed: cultivating characters, enlightening mental powers, tempering wills and enhancing qualities, by which we illustrated the influence of mathematical modeling education on students' employment.Lastly, grounded on the history and status of high school mathematics education, combined with the application of new objectives of courses and based on the understanding and perception of new standards of high school mathematical courses, we established the relations between math and life. Besides, through mathematical modeling education we also indicated the cultural meaning of mathematics and reflected the relationships between mathematics and other subjects. Finally, we proposed that high school reformation of mathematics education should emphasize on enhancing students' quality, cultivating the students' manipulative ability, motivating initiatives and improving teaching quality.
