| The Song Dynasty was a flourishing period of encyclopedia,with unprecedented scale,well—prepared system,meticulous Classification and wide dissemination,which surpassed previous generations.In the Song Dynasty,encyclopedia has developed into its prosperity stage in the history of the development of ancient china,on the basis of fully inheriting the experience of previous generations,many useful attempts and explorations have been made,which provides valuable wealth for future generations.As far as the purpose of compiling encyclopedia is concerned,before the Song Dynasty,encyclopedias were mostly used for inspecting words and allusions in composition.therefore,they reflected in the content of collecting meaningful sentences and collecting words and allusions.In addition to the use of writing materials,the Song Dynasty encyclopedia also had the use of preparing for examinations,general inspections,letters,daily life and so on.before Song Dynasty,most of the books were officially revised,while in Song Dynasty,except "Tai ping yu lan" and "Ce fu yuan gui" were officially revised,the rest were all private revised.There were not only a large number of private revised encyclopedias in Song Dynasty,but also many innovations in content,classification and style.In the middle of Southern Song Dynasty,Pan Zimu compiled the encyclopedia named "Ji zuan yuan hai",which is the earliest classification and compilation of famous sayings and aphorisms in China.Since then,the encyclopedia that record famous sayings and aphorisms have been created from "Ji zuan yuan hai".It has a unique style in the Song Dynasty,and its compilation style is very innovative.It breaks through the traditional classification principle of "heaven,earth,people,events and things",and highlights the specific theme of the content controlled by each category,not the main record,and is detailed in compilation."Ji zuan yuan hai" has divided into 22 parts,such as the argumentatin department,the nature or behavior department and the insight department.Each category is headed by a word or phrase.Under each heading,there are six parts:Confucian classics,historical records,philosophical writings,miscellaneous works,biography and the current dynasty.Listing relevant materials under each heading can be described as an outline,orderly and clear,which makes the general classification principle refined and expanded,and makes the subject of the category have been strengthened and retrieval has been improved.In addition,"Ji zuan yuan hai" not only collects and quotes ancient books before the Song Dynasty,but also sets up the "current dynasty" department,which also preserves many documents of the Song Dynasty,so it is of great value for collating and compiling documents.Based on its unique layout style,huge literature value,and the reason why the academic circles have not studied it comprehensively,this paper attempts to use multi—field data and literature,starting with the discussion of the life story of Pan Zimu,the author of the "Ji zuan yuan hai",to make a comprehensive and systematic study on the causes of the book,the compilation style,content characteristics and significance of the book itself.And put it in the specific historical and cultural atmosphere of the Southern Song Dynasty,combined with the political and cultural social background at that time,and then summarize the reasons for its formation characteristics,fully demonstrating its status in the history of the compilation of books and literature value.The text of this paper is divided into six chapters:The first chapter is about Pan Zimu's family and life.From the perspective of history,Pan Zimu's life,family background,social contacts and writings are comprehensively investig—ated.As there is no biography in the old history,Pan Zimu's family origin,birth and death years,official career,social contacts and writings are not very clear,the literature classics also exist errors involved his life story.Based on a comprehensive review of the relevant local records,genealogy,prefaces and postscripts,this chapter want to discusses the above—mentioned problems,additionally corrects the errors contained by predecessors,and combs out the magnitude of Pan Zimu's life.Summarize and clarify his official deeds,social contacts,writings,etc.The second chapter discusses the compilation and circulation of "ji zuan yuan hai".The compilation of Ji zuan yuan hai benefited from many aspects: the influence of time and family culture;Pan zimu has a high personal cultural literacy;The participation and assistance of relatives,friends and teachers;Developed regional cultural environment;The reference and materials of the encyclopedias of the previous generation.The encyclopedia "Ji zuan yuan hai" was published by Fujian Bookstore shortly after its completion in 1209.It has been widely circulated since then.It was printed and circulated in Song,Yuan,Ming and Qing dynasties.It was supplemented and adapted in Song and Ming dynasties.The third chapter makes a textual research on the edition of "Ji zuan yuan hai"."Ji zuan yuan hai" was written in the second year of the Jiading,Songning Zong(1209).Pan Zimu write the preface himself with 195 volumes,which was originally edited for the song dynasty.Chunyou Wushen(1248)years earlier,the southern song dynasty Song Huifu supplemented Pan Zimu's "Ji zuan yuan hai" totaling 94 volumes,which is called "Ji zuan yuan hai Hou ji".In the seventh year of Wanli in Ming Dynasty,Wang Jiabin changed thecatalogue of the original edition of the "Ji zuan yuan hai " and "Ji zuan yuan hai Hou ji",added and deleted a lot of contents,and adapted it to 100 volumes,which is the block—printed edition of Wanli in Ming Dynasty.In the Song,Yuan,Ming and Qing Dynasties,the encyclopedia of "Ji zuan yuan hai" was widely circulated,forming two edition systems:the original edition of 195 volumes of Song inscriptions and the adapted edition of 100 volumes of Ming Wanli.The fourth chapter discusses the classification and arrangement of "ji zuan yuan hai".The classification and arrangement of the two edition systems of "ji zuan yuan hai" are different.Comparing with previous generations,this chapter discusses in detail the classification and arrangement style of Song and Ming editions of "ji zuan yuan hai",highlighting their compilation characteristics,and compares the division and arrangement style of "ji zuan yuan hai" of the two edition systems,highlighting the differences between the two editions,in order to prove respective values.The fifth chapter is about the textual research and discussion of the cited literatures in "Ji zuan yuan hai"."Ji zuan yuan hai" has a large part,widely used materials and cautious citations.According to the textual research of Song Dynasty,more than 1,000 kinds of documents were cited.Through the textual research of its citation methods,this chapter reveals the trend of the times embodied in its citation,and proves that "Ji zuan yuan hai" is deeply influenced by Neo—Confucianism,and proves that "Ji zuan yuan hai" should be a encyclopedia for imperial examinations.At the same time,some omissions and shortcomings of the citation will be revealed.The sixth chapter discusses the significance and value of the compilation of the "Ji zuan yuan hai".Starting from the study of social environment such as politics,economy and culture,this chapter summarizes the inheritance and influence of the encyclopedia "Ji zuan yuan hai" in the history,culture and social life of the Song Dynasty,and its influence on the development of later generations' encyclopedias.Through enumerating examples,this chapter points out that the two editions of the "Ji zuan yuan hai" have high literature value,bibliographic value,historical materials and other values. |
