Since the new century,the explosive growth of academic journals and academic literatures hindered the development of academic communication among scientists,gradually evolved into"academic communication crisis".The development of science and technology have been dramatically changing people's life,study and work.Along with birth and development of Social Network Services(SNS),the traditional academic communication mode has been changed,the communication between science and the public has been promoted.The quantitative of communicated data also becomes the hotspots of science community.Currently,most of science communication activities are academic literatures spread and communicate on the SNS.From the perspective of communication theory,characters and influence factors,this paper takes systematic analysis for the academic literatures communicate on SNS.The research will help the scientists and the public to get comprehensive understand of this communication,promote the academic communication among scientists and the scientific communication to the public,and provide objective theoretical foundation for the application of Altmetrics.In view of these,this paper summarizes science communication theories,then develops the scientific communication system.Based on scientific communication system,combining the analysis of subject,the object,the supporter of communication and the communication process formed by them,we conduct theoretical analysis for the academic literatures communicate on SNS.The academic literatures communicate on SNS is an informal science communication format which not only covers the academic communication among scientists but also covers the scientific communication from science to the public.Therefore,the communication is "informal scientific communication",equal to "informal academic communication" plus "informal scientific communication".Based on the theoretical analysis,this paper takes the academic literatures of Evolutionary Biology communicated on Twitter as example.This paper analyzes the communicated path of SNS(the supporter of communication),the communicated group(the object of communication)and the communicated content(the subject of communication),and explores the characteristic of the object,subject and supporter of communication.Firstly,from the analysis of communication path,this research finds "X-Y-Z" chain spreading path.With this path,the literatures get communicated instantly among people.So,the characteristic of supporter of communication reflects on the time.The characteristics are as following:1)from the statistic of published time of tweeted literatures,this paper finds that the newer published literature,the easier to get highly tweeted frequencies;2)from the contrastive analysis of three literatures'samples which respectively get highly tweeted literatures,middle tweeted literatures and low tweeted literatures,this paper finds that the shorter of delay time(which means the time between published time and first tweeted time),the easier to get highly tweeted frequencies for the literatures,and the tweeted process of literatures finished in a short time after the first tweeted.The SNS is an informal communication channel,while the time characteristic is the response of informal science communication.Secondly,from the analysis of literatures' tweeters,we found the twitter accounts of"OfficialSMBE","EcoEvoJournals","RSocPublishing","alexander_suh",ect.,are the sponsors,active individuals and authoritative persons for literatures,for which formed the core communicating groups.At the same time,the most of these accounts are public accounts and scientists' accounts with a larger number of followers.So,this paper intends to select the public accounts and the accounts with a larger number of followers to analyzes the object characteristics.The characteristics are as following:1)from the statistical of source journals of tweeted literatures,this paper finds that most of the tweeted literatures are from the journals which had created public accounts on Twitter;2)From the contrastive analysis of three literatures' samples,this paper finds that the literatures which had got tweeted by the public accounts and the accounts with a larger number of followers are more easily to get highly tweeted frequencies.The object characteristics also response the characteristics of informal science communication.Thirdly,from the analysis of hot-tweeted literatures' keywords and hot vocabularies in tweets,we found that "behaviour"," sexual"," bird"," human",ect.which easily attract social public's interest are also the hot vocabularies in communication,except for the basic vocabularies in the field of evolutionary biology.And these vocabularies make up four topics:1)human development and civilization theme,2)cognitive behavioral and emotional themes,3)animal set and bisexual reproduction theme,4)biological themes such as birds and fish.After that,this paper intends to analyzes the object characteristics of communication from the perspective of four topics.The object characteristics are as following:1)from the statistical of the literatures belong to four topics,this paper finds that these literatures get more tweeted frequencies;2)from the contrastive analysis of three literatures' samples,this paper finds the tweets belong to the four topics easily get more retweeted frequencies.The characteristics of the interesting topics for public are the characteristics of informal scientific communication,which reponse to the function of scientific communication.Finally,according to the time character,tweeters' character and topic character,together with literature's factors,this paper constructs the quantitative analysis model of the influence factors,utilizes the negative binomial regression to measure the influence factors.As the results shown,the literature's factors take insignificant effect to the science communication and scientific communication,but they have some effect to the academic communication.The time and tweeters' factors take significant effect to the science communication,scientific communication and academic communication,they are the dominant factors for academic literatures communicate on SNS.While time and tweeted accounts factors are also the features of informal communication.The topic factors have some effect to scientific communication for which science to the public,but there is no effect to academic communication for scientists.From the analysis of influence factors,this paper also finds that there are obvious differences between scientific communication and academic communication.
