Under the background of global warming, the development of low-carbon economy has become the basic way that countries deal with climate change in the future. The use of biomass energy is an important measure to achieve sustainable low-carbon economy.Biomass is characteristic of less polluting, flammable and low ash.Crops and forest resources are across the country and there are a large amount of resources in the world.Furthermore, carbon dioxide can be absorbed in the form of biomass fixed when the corps and forests are growing. Therefore, agriculture and forestry biomass energy can play an important role in dealing with carbon emission reduction.Chinese agricultural and forestry resources, which are very rich, lay a good foundation for the development of industry of agriculture and forestry biomass energy resources in China.Through the development of agriculture and forest biomass energy,it can promote structural optimization of energy, realize low-carbon emissions, and it has important strategic significance for the comprehensive and coordinated development of China's energy, environment and economy.Based on China's agricultural and forestry biomass energy resource distribution, environmental conditions and the unbalanced regional development characteristics, this research analyzed different regions of agriculture and forest biomass resource potential and its variation process in China using kernel density estimation analysis, global spatial autocorrelation analysis, local spatial autocorrelation analysis, spatial hotspot analysis, spatial regression analysis,space-time transitions analysis and weight shift analysis.Based on this analysis, this research also analyzed the spatial coupling features of China's agricultural and forest biomass energy resource potential, environment and economy.Furthermore, the potential environmental and economic benefits of China's agricultural and forest biomass resources were evaluated. This research provided a scientific and reasonable basis for decision making of distribution of China's agricultural and forest biomass energy industry. The main conclusions of this research are as follows:(1)China's agricultural and forest biomass resource potential is plentiful and continue to increase.(2)China's agricultural and forest biomass resource potential are mainly distributed in the provinces of the southwest and northeast, where the forestry resources are rich, and distributed in the provinces of north, where the agriculture are relatively rich.Lower resource potential is mainly concentrated in the western provinces. For a long time,China's agriculture and forest biomass resource potential has been in a state of spatial concentration, and gradually showing spatial bivariate distribution structure, namely the phenomenon of agglomeration of agricultural and forest biomass resource potential of high and low value area become more and more obvious.Agriculture and forest biomass energy resource potential in most provinces showed a steady change in the spatial position, and several provinces exhibits the characteristics of regional instability.(3)The carbon dioxide emissions and agriculture and forest biomass resource potential have better spatial coupling in terms of movement distance of regional gravity and direction change.Agricultural biomass energy resources and carbon dioxide emissions have better spatial coupling in terms of gravity changes direction.Forest biomass energy and carbon dioxide emissions have better spatial coupling in terms of movement direction.Regional spatial coupling became weakened and then became stable.(4)There is a strong spatial coupling characteristics between China's agriculture and forest biomass energy resources, environment and economy.Shandong province and its surrounding area are the region of strong hotspot spatial coupling. The number of provinces which have spatial coupling relationship is big in 1993-1998 and small 2003-2013.(5)China's agricultural and forest biomass energy resources have high potential environmental and economic benefits. However, because the growth rate of agricultural and forest biomass resources is less than the greenhouse gas emissions growth rate, the absolute amount of agricultural and forest biomass resources increased, but relative amount reduced year by year.Potential economic benefits of China's agricultural and forest biomass resources exhibit the phenomenon of polarization, but the total value of potential benefits has been gradually increasing in the past.Potential economic and environmental benefits of China's agriculture and forest biomass energy formed three regions,Northern China including Shandong and Henan,Southwestern China including Sichuan,Yunnan and Guangxi, and Northeastern China including Heilongjiang,Inner Mongolia.
