A Research On The Obscure Characters And Words In Taoism Rite Scriptures

Taoist scriptures are the literatures of Taoism.It has a large number of Taoist documents which are been written from Han Dynasty to Ming Dynasty.As to be the most important part of the materials about the research of Chinese history,Taoist scriptures has not been paid attentionto in the linguistic circle.Especially the Taoist Rite documents that of its research on the characters and words is still a blank up to now.This thesis selects the difficult words from the Taoist rite scriptures as the object,and to make mainly textual research about the popular form of characters and wrong characters and the obscure words.In the process of making textual research we classified the obscure words into some parts and primarily explored the way of the word formation so as to describe their general conditon widely.Our study has certain help for collating Taoist scriptures text,compiling the dictionary as well as describing the Chinese research history.This thesis consists of four parts.The first chapter:Introduction.This chapter mainly introduced the consists of the Taoist scriptures and research state,the causes of selecting topic and the object of the study and innovative points of this thesis and research methods.The second chapter:Study values of the explanation of the difficult words.We explained and discriminated some popular form of characters and wrong characters which easily result in the barriers of understanding.The third chapter:The classified explanations of difficult words.We classified difficult words into two parts:Taoist words and common words and primarily described the general conditon of the Taoist rite scriptures.The fourth chapter:The research of the source of the word meanings.By means of the connections with the cognate words,we studied etymology and meaning source of the words.
