The dissertation researches on China’media industry based on the spatial perspective. It studies many problems, such as the distribution of media industry, co-opetitions between media, agglomeration and clusters of media industry, innovation of media’s institutions, the regional inequality and harmonization of media industry, and so on.The distribution China’s media industry has become un-balanced since the implementation of the reform and openning-up policy. A high inequality of distribution exists between the East China, the middle areas and the West China when it is directly connected with the degree of regional ecnomic development, which is regarded as the typical characteristic of China’s media industrial distribution. Such a situation has promoted the development of media industry to a certain extent, but it is not beneficial for the competition, improvement of efficiency of media industry and the realization of social fairness, because the managing system of the media is still not mature. Whereas efficiency and social fairness are what we need to solve urgently so as to promote the development of China’s media industry. The administrative division hinders the free distribution of media’s producing elements and the full play of the role of market. Therefore, the key to improve the efficiency of media industry is to develop the regional media market which is now possible under the background of regional integration and metropolitan areas. In the perspective of micro market mechanism the development of the regional media market relys on the realization of the trans-regional development the main means of which is the co-opetition with other media in different areas, such as media alliances. Media alliances play a certain role in promoting media cooperation; however they are unstable owing to opportunism which is an urgent problem for media alliances to deal with. The flowing of media essential producing elements cuases the agglomeration of media industry and media industrial clusters which, having advantages in promoting industrial competitive power is regarded as an inevitable choice to adopt the media industrial clusters strategy to achieve the goal of media industrial development after the market-oriented reform and media group affiliation. Now there are agglomerations of media industry yet no media industrial clusters in China. Therefore the next step is to cultivate our media industrial clusters.Since local government has become the independent main body of rights and interests, central government and local government can both influence the innovation of media institutions. Operated by the combination of bottom, middle and top, China’ media institutional innovation is a gradual process which is a succession of marginal adjustment from micro to macro in the game among central government, local government and media organizations. Now the media reform may adopt the strategy implemented after experiment in the existing policy framework. The increasing of regional inequality in the development of media industry in China may be harmful to the regional harmonization strategy, so we must improve and carry into effects of the media industry regional harmonization strategy, while the leap forward in the development of media industry in West China is the key condition to realize the media industry regional harmonization, which need not only to adopt special policy mechanism, but also to display the comparative advantages in the west areas.
