Currently, the publishing industry in China is confronting five major risks, that is, some great foreign publishing companies have started to enter china; the publishing industry in china, as a state monopoly industry, has been facing up some problems during its transition to the market oriented economy; the rising of the private presses continued to pose a new challenge to the administration of the publishing; people's reading habit began to take a change in the modern living surroundings; the publishing is facing the suppression of other vigorous media. At the same time, the risks also represent opportunities. There fore, it is an arduous subject confronted by all the staff engaged in the publishing industry that how to catch the opportunity, reform & develop the industry and improve competitive ability to realize the transition from a big publishing country to a strong publishing country.The dissertation tries to propose a path for the development of our publishing from the two perspectives of economics and management science, that is, to realize the combination of the publishing and to make an evaluation of its market profits and competitive ability through comprehensive evaluation methods. At last, the countermeasures to promote the competitive ability of china's publishing are raised.Firstly, the dissertation outlines the current situation of China's publishing and deliberates the status quo of its capacity for publishing, organization and administration, administrative system, industrial structure and publishing collections separately.
