With the further research and application of advanced manufacturing technology, the philosophy of Concurrent Engineering (CE), as the core of modem Advanced Manufacturing Technology, gives more high requirements with product development. This dissertation mainly researched the key techniques of CAPP in the CE environment, includes orient-object modeling, unified information model, case-based process route planning, product manufacturability evaluation model and integration of CAPP and PPS, as following: 1. Under the base of analyzing structurized software engineering and orient-object software engineering, it introduced Unified Modeling Language (UML). And it gave a iterative-increment software development process. Using this software development process should reduce the risk of project. 2. The information model of CAPP includes feature product model, manufacturing resource model, process plan model and product manufacturability model. Under the base of analyzing the information model, it gave Unified Data Model (UDM). With it, CAPP can realize concurrent decision-making with CAD and PPS in CE environment. 3. A methodology of case-based process planning, based on neural networks, is presented. This approach makes use of neural network to realize the dynamic classification and to index these cases, and makes use of the learning and self-organization of neural networks to reduce periodic human maintenance of the CBR system. 4. The fuzzy mathematics approach is applied to evaluate product manufacturability. And in the same time, studied the multi-level distributed approach and model for integration of CAPP and PPS.
