Research On The Technology Of CAD/CAPP Integration Based On Feature Recognition

Integration of CAD system and CAPP system is the base of the integrationbetween other application systems in an enterprise. By establishing whole productinformation model and attaining the whole information of product, information can beshared in the enterprise. Product modelling is the base to implement CAD/CAPP integration. A productdefinition model based on feature is made in this dissertation. According to theinformation requirements of information integration system, feature definition, featureclassification, feature relationship, feature representation and establishment are allresearched systematically. Then product definition model is proposed on the base ofresearch of feature. Products' feature information is extracted from the corresponding STEP filesaccording to the feature information description in product definition model. Thegeometry information is recognised on the base of analysis of the structure of STEPfiles and application of the analytic arithmetic. All the information is saved in the products design database in the form of XMLfile according to the requirement of Web CAPP system. A method of process planning is made for the CAPP system which is based on thefeature database. Process planning is made primarily on case based reasoning andsecondarily on rule based reasoning and alternant intelligent table technology. Valid research and practice is made on the base of all the research anddevelopment mentioned before.
