In view of the dynamic and changeable characteristics of the modern manufacturing enterprises, CAPP is required to have such qualities as flexibility, expansibility and re-configurability and dynamic adaptability. In addition, the work process of CAPP in Concurrent Engineering should cooperate with the upper and lower function modules. Under the Agile Enterprise Model, different process planners may finish the process planning for the same product at different work places. Accordingly, CAPP is desired to have the functions that enable enquiry, confirmation and process planning at different places. For the above reasons, the system architecture and the implementation method of a cooperative CAPP system, based on Multi-Agent system, have been put forward in this dissertation.On the basis of analyzing the shortcomings of the current CAPP systems, the system architecture of a cooperative CAPP system has been presented. The improved CAPP has been designed and analyzed in detail based on the Unified Modeling Language and the functions and interrelations of the system object classes have been elucidated by Use Case diagram, object class diagram, sequence Diagram and collaboration Diagram. Furthermore, the agent granularity of the improved cooperative CAPP system has been subclassified at length.Since the communication mechanism between agents is the foundation that guarantees every agent's effective cooperation, the interior structure for each agent in the system has been modeled minutely, and the communication mechanism of the cooperative CAPP system has been described comprehensively.During cooperative process plan generation process, there may arise unavoidable conflicts between the different agents. So it is of great significance to resolve the conflicts timely and effectively. The origins and types of conflicts produced in the cooperative process planning have been explored, and a knowledge-based integrated conflict resolution mechanism has been presented.This dissertation has also probed the process and mechanism aroused between the agents in the cooperative CAPP and has discussed the CAPP/PPC integrated model based on the distributed and dynamic process planning. On the basis of BP network and GA algorithm, this paper has proposed the method that can generate the adaptive cooperative and dynamic process planning under the workshop conditions.As has been shown in this study, feature extraction and manufacturability evaluation are two aspects of CAD/CAPP process integration. Therefore, this dissertation has finally discussed the method of feature-based CAD/CAPP integration and delved into the feature-based manufacturability evaluation method and the product manufacturability evaluation method based on fuzzy multilevel comprehensive evaluation.
