| China’s digital economy has been at the forefront of the world in terms of scale and growth for many consecutive years,making it a veritable digital economy power.Industrial digitization is the frontier port of the new round of scientific and technological revolution,and the top priority for the integrated development of the real economy and digital technology.It cooperates with the industrial technology innovation ecology to achieve high-quality economic development.However,differences in digital integration,resource endowment,and innovation carrying capacity among provinces have become shortfalls that constrain high-quality economic development.So,under the strategic decision to promote high-quality development of the digital economy,can industrial digitization effectively provide strong support for high-quality economic development? What is the mechanism of its action? Exploring these core points is of great significance in providing strong theoretical support for industrial digitization to boost high-quality economic development.In order to study the impact of industrial digitization on high-quality economic development,this article,based on reviewing relevant literature on industrial digitization and high-quality economic development,uses provincial panel data from 2011-2020 in China,and uses entropy weight method to construct high-quality economic development indexes and industrial digitization indexes for various provinces in China,and analyzes them from multiple perspectives.Firstly,introducing technological innovation as an intermediary variable to explore the impact of industrial digitization on high-quality economic development;Secondly,further analysis is made on regional heterogeneity and economic level heterogeneity;Thirdly,a panel quantile regression model is used to explore the differences in the impact of industrial digitization under different economic development distributions;Finally,a deeper study is conducted on the impact of industrial digitization on various dimensions of high-quality economic development.The research findings are as follows:(1)From 2011 to 2020,the high-quality development of the economy and the level of industrial digitization in all provinces of China have shown a trend of increasing year by year;(2)Technological innovation plays a partial intermediary role in the process of industrial digitization affecting high-quality economic development;(3)The results of regional heterogeneity show that industrial digitization in the eastern region has the best promotion effect on high economic quality;The results of economic level heterogeneity show that under the influence of technological innovation,the higher the economic level,the better the promotion effect.(4)The impact of industrial digitization under different economic development distributions presents an inverted "U" shape characteristic;(5)In terms of dimensions,industrial digitization has a significant promoting effect on the five dimensions of high-quality economic development,with the best effect on the sharing dimension.This article puts forward corresponding countermeasures and suggestions from such aspects as attaching importance to the innovation of digital technology industry,promoting the development of digital industry,narrowing the "digital divide" among regions,and improving the government’s digital governance and service system. |
