At present, the whole country is carrying out urban renewal action, promoting the construction of urban infrastructure, and creating a comfortable, livable, resilient and smart city. The hot topic of today’s society is the transformation of old residential areas.Combined with news reports and special research,it can be found that although the reconstruction of the old community is completed, there are still some residents who are not satisfied with the evaluation after the reconstruction, and the evaluation varies from high to low.For the livelihood project, there must be some adverse factors. An examination of the varying appraisals of contentment from inhabitants concerning the renovation of former residential districts leads to the deduction that the elements impacting their satisfaction are linked to a lack of involvement of inhabitants,an unreasonable design,a protracted building period, and other causes. Therefore, the study on the satisfaction of residents can master the main factors affecting the satisfaction of residents in the whole process of the reconstruction of the old community, and make targeted improvements.Establishing a set of indicators of satisfaction for residents that are compatible with the reconstruction environment can not only assess the real impact of the reconstruction of the old community, but also heighten the contentment of its inhabitants.Residents’ satisfaction of the transformation of the old community in Q District of Nanchang City as an example to carry out the study.First of all,the factors affecting household satisfaction are analyzed, and a comprehensive evaluation index system is constructed.Through on-the-spot investigation, literature analysis and the application of a variety of technical means, summed up five different dimensions of satisfaction evaluation indicators: infrastructure transformation, comprehensive environmental renovation, application of intelligent technology, safety improvement, transformation process and later maintenance.Secondly, the weight of each index in resident satisfaction is determined by Analytic hierarchy process(AHP).Thirdly, taking the completed old district in Q District of Nanchang City as the research object, the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method is used to calculate the residents’ satisfaction with the completion of the transformation of the old district. Finally, according to the results of satisfaction evaluation, this paper reveals the contradictory problems and causes in the process of transformation, and puts forward seven measures to improve the governance of old residential areas: the first is to pay attention to the intervention of aging transformation, the second is to solve the problem of "the last kilometer" of transformation, the third is to co-ordinate the relationship between transformation and management, the fourth is to make use of two-factor theory for pro-design,and the fifth is to reasonably and properly arrange the construction rhythm. The sixth is to adapt to the new normal of "no demolition" and the seventh is to give full play to the role of residents.
