Research On The Residential Satisfaction Of Aged Homes In The Main Districts Of Chongqing

As population aging speed accelerating, Chinese government proposed a service system for the aged by home care based on community service as support, supplemented by the aged homes. Under the background of the welfare pluralism theory, social forces start to participate in the provision of social welfare services. With the weakening of the traditional family pension function, aged homes are becoming important part of the pension service system and in a period of rapid development. Chongqing is one of the serious aging cities in China. Series of preferential policies about aged services has been announced to encourage the development of social aged services. In recent years, with the social forces participating in the establishment of aged homes actively,the number of aged homes and nursing beds are creasing. The aged homes have a variety of types and uneven quality. In future the demand of the aged will increase and the development of aged homes will face different difficulties. In the view of living, evaluating the residential satisfaction of the aged in aged homes can define the needs of the aged and find problems in construction and operation of aged homes, then provide reference suggestions for the future aged homes.This paper summarizes overseas and domestic research documents. Combining with Satisfaction model, this paper establish a evaluation system of residential satisfaction for aged homes. The system consists of 6 second-level indexes and 27 third-level indexes. The weight of indexes is determined by using expert evaluating method and grey correlation analysis. Survey on the residential satisfaction of different aged homes is conducted by questionnaire and interview. After reliability analysis, validity analysis and descriptive statistical analysis, residential satisfaction is valued by fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method.Through the analysis found that "medical environment, security and air quality" are important factors affecting residential satisfaction. The level of satisfaction of aged homes in the main districts of Chongqing are above the “general satisfaction”. The degree of satisfaction have a big gap between different types of aged homes. The aged homes are divided into three types by correlational analysis between occupancy rate and residential satisfaction. The aged homes with higher residential satisfaction don’t necessarily have a higher occupancy rate. Finally aiming at the problems in evaluation of residential satisfaction, This paper proposed suggestions in aspects of layout,architectural design, policy support, refinement of service standard and talent construction, to improve the elderly residential satisfaction and promote the development of aged homes.
