Research On The Impact Of Digital Economy On The Upgrading Of Industrial Structure

Under the influence of the COVID-19 epidemic,the world economy suffered a certain blow,and China’s economy also suffered a negative impact to a certain extent.The traditional economy suffered a major impact,and the emerging economy represented by the digital economy took advantage of the situation.Digital technologies represented by big data,artificial intelligence,Internet and 5G technology have brought us into the digital economy era.The rise of digital economy such as online education,telemedicine,home office and e-commerce has provided strong support for the smooth operation of the national economy.Digital technology and its related applications have gradually penetrated into all aspects of our lives,and become a strong support for promoting high-quality economic development.Therefore,it is of great significance to make an in-depth discussion on how the digital economy can promote the upgrading of industrial structure.Firstly,this paper defines the related concepts,and analyzes the basic and nonlinear influence mechanism of digital economy on industrial structure upgrading.Then,it studies the current situation of digital economy and industrial structure upgrading,uses the data of 30 provinces in China(except Tibet)from 2012 to 2019,and measures the level of digital economy by using principal component analysis.At the same time,it measures the level of industrial structure upgrading in China from the perspectives of industrial structure upgrading and industrial structure rationalization.Finally,the paper studies the direct impact of digital economy on industrial structure upgrading through the double fixed model,and the intermediary effect of human capital and innovation ability on digital economy on industrial structure upgrading through the intermediary effect model.Then,the threshold regression model is used to analyze the nonlinear characteristics,and the regional heterogeneity test and robustness test are carried out.The empirical results are as follows:(1)Regression results show that the digital economy has significantly promoted the upgrading of industrial structure and made the industrial structure more reasonable.(2)Digital economy promotes the upgrading of industrial structure by promoting human capital,but digital economy can’t promote the rationalization of industrial structure by influencing human capital;Innovation plays an intermediary role in the influence path of digital economy on industrial structure upgrading.(3)In the aspect of nonlinear impact analysis,there is no significant nonlinear impact relationship between digital economy and the upgrading of industrial structure;The digital economy has a nonlinear influence on the rationalization of industrial structure,and there is a double threshold,and the degree of action is decreasing from small to large and then decreasing.(4)In the heterogeneity test,in the models of uncontrolled regional effect and time effect,the order of the effect of digital economy on industrial structure upgrading is the eastern region > the central region > the western region.After adopting the model of controlling regional effect and time effect,the results are different for the eastern,central and western regions.(5)In the robustness test,this paper uses the methods of shrinking tail test and core explanatory variable replacement,and carries out endogenous test.The empirical results are all robust.Based on the above empirical test results,this paper puts forward the following four suggestions and measures:vigorously develop the digital economy and comprehensively improve the level of the digital economy;Give play to the role of "intermediary factors" and empower the upgrading of industrial structure;Implement the development strategy of "adapting to local conditions" and attach importance to regional coordinated development;Accelerate the integration of digital economy and real economy and realize "digital empowerment".
