With the rapid development of agriculture, the quality and safety of agricultural products and environmental pollution have become difficulties in agricultural development.Due to outdated agricultural production practices such as excessive application of fertilizers and pesticides, indiscriminate disposal of plastic agricultural films, and extensive management methods, problems such as low utilization of agricultural resources, pollution of the ecological environment, and low quality and safety of agricultural products have emerged one after another.Green development of agriculture is urgent. As farmers, who account for over 98% of the micro business entities in agricultural production nationwide, the key to green development in agriculture lies in their adoption of green production technologies to achieve green production methods. As the top county in fruit production in the eastern region of Henan, traditional and backward planting methods still widely exist, this greatly restricts the development of the regional fruit industry. So,understanding farmers’ understanding of green production technology and the factors that affect their willingness and behavior to adopt green production technology is of great significance for promoting the adoption of green production technology and its practical application in agriculture,in order to identify the key issues and ensure the quality and safety of agricultural products. This paper takes fruit growers in Xihua County as the research object.Firstly, the research is based on the related concepts of green agriculture, green agriculture production technology, farmers’ technology adoption behavior, and the related theories of farmers’ behavior theory, cost benefit theory, and sustainable development theory;Secondly, through on-site research in five townships in the eastern part of Xihua County, the basic overview of the individual characteristics of farmers, production and operation characteristics, green cognitive characteristics, and external conditions characteristics of sample fruit farmers was understood. The current situation of green production technology adoption behavior among fruit farmers was analyzed.Research has found that the respondents’ use of production technology exhibits a phenomenon of high cognition, high willingness, and low behavior. There was an imbalance between technology supply and demand in the production stages Problems such as outdated agricultural models and single promotion systems;Taking the sample fruit farmers as the main body again,a binary logistic regression model was used for empirical analysis. The results showed that three factors, namely the identity of farmers as cadres, attitudes towards agricultural ecological environment, and education and training, have a significant positive impact on fruit growers to accept the production technology of green agriculture; Finally, based on the analysis results and taking the research topic as an example, this study explores the practical effectiveness of local green production technologies, summarizes the experience and shortcomings, and believes that the adoption behavior of green production technologies by fruit farmers in Xihua County needs normative guidance.Measures such as education and training, establishing concepts, and demonstration roles are proposed to strengthen the main consciousness of farmers, and measures such as supporting services, compensation policies, and financial subsidies are used to establish a sustainable guarantee mechanism,Improve the agricultural promotion system through measures such as building platforms, cultivating talents, and establishing brands, and optimize the external macro environment through measures such as infrastructure investment, policy incentives, and market mechanisms.
