China’s agricultural development has long relied on excessive input of production factors such as pesticides and fertilizers, and agricultural development has caused serious ecological and environmental problems. At present,China has entered a stage of high-quality development, and promoting the green and high-quality development of agriculture has become the only way to coordinate economic growth and ecological environmental protection.Green agricultural technology takes into account ecological, economic and social benefits, and is an inevitable choice to achieve green agricultural development. As the implementer of green agricultural technology, farmers are the key nodes for the promotion and implementation of green agricultural technology.Agricultural production activities are based on the society of rural acquaintances, and when farmers adopt green agricultural technologies, they are easily constrained by the rural cultural atmosphere, social relations, values and attitudes of neighbors. Therefore, using the micro-survey data of 337 grain farmers in Henan Province, this paper studies the influencing factors of farmers’ green agricultural technology adoption behavior from five dimensions: relationship embedding, cultural embedding, political embedding, cognitive embedding and structural embedding from the perspective of social embedding, based on the multivariate ordered Probit model, and performs differential analysis and marginal effect analysis. The following research results were obtained,First, the adoption level of green agricultural technology of sample farmers in the survey area needs to be improved. In general, the adoption rate of green agricultural technology by farmers in the survey area is high, but 50% of the farmers implement a green agricultural technology, and the adoption of green agricultural technology in the production process of farmers is less, and the level of adoption needs to be further improved.Second, relationship embedding, cultural embedding, government embedding, cognitive embedding and structural embedding positively and significantly affect the adoption level of green agricultural technologies by farmers from a single dimension and as a whole, respectively.Third, according to the results of differential analysis, from the perspective of different education level groups, the number of pure labor force has a positive and significant impact on the high-educated group, the negative significant impact on the low-educated group, and the annual household income only has a positive and significant impact on the high-educated group, but the impact on the low-educated group is not significant.Cognitive embedding had a positive and significant effect on the low-educated group, but the impact on the high-educated group was not significant. From the perspective of different income groups, cultural embedding has a significant positive impact on high-income groups, but has no significant impact on low-income groups.Fourth, according to the results of marginal effect analysis, all explanatory variables were significantly negative for the values "not implemented" and "implemented one",except for the number of pure labor and the number of plots, the remaining explanatory variables were significantly positive for the marginal effect of "implementation two" and "implementation of three",and the marginal effect of "implementation of four" was not significant.Explanatory variables had the largest marginal effect on "implementation two",cultural embedding had the largest marginal effect on "implementation two",and cultural embedding was the key influencing factor of green agricultural technology adoption.Based on the above conclusions, the following policy recommendations are put forward:strengthen government publicity and policy guidance, and encourage farmers to implement green agricultural technologies;Optimize access to information and promote the adoption of green agricultural technologies;Create an innovative and tolerant culture that motivates farmers to adopt green agricultural technologies;Carry out technical training for new vocational farmers to promote green and high-quality agricultural development.
