Research On The Measurement Of High-quality Development Level Of Manufacturing Industry In The Yellow River Basin

Entering a new phase of the new normal,China’s economic development has shifted to a focus on high-quality development as its primary economic work;manufacturing,as the core of the real economy,will be the driving force behind sustained and secure growth.For the attainment of superior economic growth,it is essential to advance the excellence of the manufacturing sector.The Yellow River Basin is a pivotal region for the national regional unified development plan and the building of the "Belt and Road",and it is a major strategic development area of the new nation,with plentiful energy sources and manufacturing making up half of the northern economy.Consequently,it should be actively engaged in constructing a novel growth pattern and advancing top-notch growth.The author,based on this,builds an index system from six dimensions: innovation,greenness,openness,coordination,sharing,and digitality.To assess the high-grade manufacturing industry’s development in nine provinces of the Yellow River Basin between2011 and 2020 they employ an improved entropy method,exploratory spatial data analysis,and driving factor analysis.(1)From 2011 to 2020,the Yellow River Basin’s manufacturing industry experienced a steady rise in its high-quality development level index,which rose by 60%.The green index of high-quality development of manufacturing industry,however,declined by 16.78%,while the other five dimensional indexes all showed an upward trend,indicating that the high-quality development level of manufacturing industry is continually improving.Shandong Province has always had the highest manufacturing high-quality development level index,whereas Qinghai Province has shifted from Ningxia to the province with the lowest,suggesting that Ningxia’s manufacturing industry is progressing at a faster rate than Qinghai’s.(2)The manufacturing industry’s high-quality development level index in each province was measured by dimension,revealing that provinces experienced varying changes in the same dimensions over the course of the decade.It was observed that the two dimensions of sharing and digital had an upward trend,with Ningxia and Henan having the highest increase in the sharing and digital indices,rising by 181.87% and 75.52% respectively.Openness is on the rise in other provinces except for Shandong Province,and innovation is on the rise in other provinces except for Qinghai Province.The fluctuations are the green index and the coordination index.(3)The Yellow River Basin’s nine provinces display a clear distinction in the high-quality manufacturing industry’s development level over time;the coefficient of variation fluctuates between 0.989 and 1.8297,and the disparity increases with the yearly growth,implying that the disparity in the high-quality manufacturing industry’s development in the Yellow River Basin is becoming more pronounced.From 2012 to 2018,a noteworthy global spatial positive correlation was observed in the Yellow River Basin’s manufacturing industry,which shifted from merely low and low aggregation traits to high and high aggregation traits,and the spatial positive correlation slightly augmented.(4)The Yellow River Basin’s nine provinces should be more mindful of the sustainable development of manufacturing and the level of manufacturing openness,as innovation,sharing,and digitality have become key catalysts for the high-quality manufacturing industry in various locations.However,greenness and openness have a limited role in this development.
