Research On Yellow River Basin’s Eco-efficiency And Its Influencing Factors From Spatiotemporal Differentiation Aspects Under The Background Of High-quality Development

In September 2019,Xi Jinping emphasized at the symposium on ecological protection and high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin that it is necessary to enhance the balance and coordination of regional development and promote ecological protection and high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin.Confronting with frangibility,dislocation of development patterns and huge disparities existed of the ecological system in the internal development in Yellow River basin,it is urgent to study on the spatial and temporal differentiation of eco-efficiency and its influencing factors in order to support the high-quality transition of the Yellow River basin.This study aims to analyze the characteristics of eco-efficiency of 9 provinces in the Yellow River basin from economical,resource,and environmental aspects;and to further reveal the key factors of the spatial-temporal variation of eco-efficiency in a comprehensive and systematic way by entropy weight method,Global Malmquist-Luenberger index model,and variable coefficient model.Based on the above empirical study,targeted suggestions for the improvement of ecoefficiency in the Yellow River Basin are proposed.The results show that:(1)From 2001 to 2020,although the overall ecological efficiency of the Yellow River Basin has improved to a certain extent,the average level of the 9 provinces along the Yellow River is mostly lower than the national level,and the polarization is serious.As time progresses,areas with high ecological efficiency(above 1.0)gather in the lower reaches of the watershed,while areas with low ecological efficiency(0.2-0.6)shrink toward the middle of the watershed.The functional positioning characteristics of each region in the Yellow River Basin determine the above-mentioned spatial pattern of ecological efficiency,which is difficult to change in the short term;(2)Time series impact analysis shows that economic development(0.715-1.213)has the most obvious positive driving effect on ecological efficiency,and the impact of technological innovation is from positive to positive.Turning negative,environmental governance and opening to the outside world have not yet played a positive role;(3)Spatial impact analysis found that economic development promotes the positive development of the ecological efficiency of the Yellow River Basin,and technological innovation has a positive and significant impact on the overall ecological efficiency,which has great potential in sub-regional influence(upstream is 9.134).On the whole,economic development is the common factor that promotes the temporal and spatial differentiation of ecological efficiency in the Yellow River Basin.Based on this research,the following suggestions are put forward: the Yellow River Basin should be targeted to implement regional policies,and the upper reaches will actively build a clean energy industry highland;the middle reaches will increase efforts to implement the strategy of strengthening the province through industry;With the goal of balanced economic and environmental development,it provides support for the multi-dimensional balanced development of economy,society and ecology in the Yellow River Basin.
