This paper is mainly based on the theories related to role-play teaching and its learning effects,and adopts a case of lesson observation and field interviews study method to research role-play teaching and its learning effects.The paper takes Guangzhou Vocational School of Tourism & Business as the case of research,used lesson observation and field interviews to observe 17 lessons that used role-play teaching instruction and a part of learning effects.And through interviews,116 students were interviewed.The learning effects obtained from role-play teaching were studied.The conclusions of this paper were obtained:1.Role-play teaching can make students obtain certain learning effects,mainly including learning ability,responsibility,interest in learning,initiative and motivation.Among them,the learning ability includes the ability of expression,comprehension,knowledge application,performance,observation,imagination,problem solving,imitation,cooperation,and the ability to regulate interpersonal relationships.This study expands the theory related to role-play teaching,and also provides some implications of role-play teaching in secondary tourism courses.2.The learning ability obtained by different grades of role play teaching varies,that is,under the role play teaching,more students in the upper grades have the ability to learn.
