| Since the 18 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,the important role of primary and secondary school libraries has received continuous attention at the national level,and the development of national reading activities and the construction of a scholarly society have risen to an important strategic deployment,and cultivating students’ reading habits and building a scholarly campus are important parts of national reading.However,although China attaches great importance to the construction of primary and secondary school libraries and the development of reading service activities,and according to the "2020 National Education Development Statistical Bulletin",China now has a total of 210,800 schools in the compulsory education stage and 24,500 high school education schools;according to the calculation of each primary and secondary school library has one professional librarian position,the demand for professional librarians in primary and secondary school libraries should be about 235,000.However,a number of survey studies have found that primary and secondary school librarians are not well positioned in school work,their professionalism has not been fully recognized,and the proportion of professional talents in the librarian team is extremely low.The allocation of professional librarians is the core force of the operation and sustainable development of primary and secondary school libraries,and the lack of professional librarians will directly affect the educational function and comprehensive benefits of primary and secondary school libraries.This paper analyzes the supply and demand of professional librarians in primary and secondary school libraries from both ends,understands the current situation of the demand for professional librarians in primary and secondary schools in China by collecting recruitment information,understands the training status of professional librarians in primary and secondary schools in China by analyzing the curriculum system of colleges and universities,and then puts forward optimization suggestions for the talent training of colleges and universities according to the current situation of demand,promotes the cultivation of professional librarians in primary and secondary schools in China,and plays an irreplaceable role in cultivating students’ reading habits,improving reading literacy and promoting lifelong learning.Through the text analysis of 216 recruitment information for professional librarians in primary and secondary school libraries,this paper comprehensively investigates and summarizes the current demand for professional librarians in primary and secondary school libraries in China,and mainly finds the following:(1)China’s current job market has a certain demand for professional librarians in primary and secondary school libraries,mainly concentrated in the eastern region of China,and the salary level is competitive;(2)Prefer to choose undergraduate students majoring in library information and archives management;(3)User service ability is the most important professional skill in primary and secondary school libraries,reading promotion ability in user service ability is the core competitiveness with the highest frequency,teaching service,cooperative teaching,and information literacy are the new trends of user service ability;(4)Pay special attention to the practical experience of job seekers,and the professional abilities required are characterized by strong practicality.Focusing on the current situation of the demand for professional talents in primary and secondary school libraries,this paper analyzes the training objectives,curriculum syllabus and specific courses of seven colleges and universities,mainly discussing:(1)whether the training of undergraduate students majoring in library science in China faces the demand for professional librarians in primary and secondary school libraries;(2)Whether the current talent training unit can cultivate the user service ability of library science undergraduate students mainly in reading promotion,cooperative teaching,information literacy education,etc.,and form it into core competitiveness;(3)Whether it can provide rich practical courses to cultivate the practical ability required by primary and secondary school libraries and cultivate application-oriented talents.Finally,it is found that:(1)in the current training system of colleges and universities,there is no training direction and professional compulsory courses for primary and secondary school library professionals;(2)Failure to cultivate the user service ability of undergraduate students majoring in library science such as reading promotion,cooperative teaching,and information literacy education,and form them into core competitiveness;(3)Practical courses are few and lack of pertinence;Finally,corresponding talent training suggestions are given for the above three problems:(1)correctly understand social needs and do a good job in the development planning of subject education;(2)Improve the curriculum system and cultivate core competitiveness;(3)Implement practical teaching to enhance employability. |
