With the advent of the information age,the library industry at home and abroad is constantly developing.Correspondingly,the demand for talents in the library has also changed.The talent team is the core strength of the library business,and the American university library with a perfect and mature development system has a significant demand change for the talent team.This article selects 425 job postings from March 2012 to September 2017 published by the US ATG website.First,classify the job type based on the job title.With the help of relevant statistical software and word cloud production tools,word frequency statistics and keyword extraction for each type of post are taken from the three perspectives of job requirements,necessary job conditions,and additional job conditions,so as to understand the talents of American university libraries and the composition and recruitment of talents in the past six years,summed up the talent demand characteristics of American university libraries: fine job setting,clear job responsibilities;establish interdisciplinary,high-level talent team;focus on comprehensive quality and skills requirements.Then,according to the talent demand characteristics and related research of American university libraries,the factors affecting the talent demand of American university libraries are summarized: the dynamic environment of higher education;the constantly developing information technology;the gradually changing user behavior;the continuous innovation of library management;upgrading and transforming library services.Based on the advanced experience of the United States,it puts forward relevant suggestions for university library management and library information education in China:setting diversified recruitment positions,actively recruiting talents;attaching importance to librarian training,cultivating system specialization;strengthening library awareness and improving library status;taking the professional demand as the guide to improve students' professional competitiveness;focusing on teaching reform and improving the curriculum system.
