Research On The Impact Of Digital Transformation On The Performance Of Manufacturing Enterprises

Enterprises cannot develop in isolation from the external environment.Under the background of digital economy,manufacturing enterprises,especially the leading ones in the industry,have been seeking the path of transformation and development.Digital transformation has become the strategic choice of most enterprises.It is worth discussing whether the new development strategy is beneficial to the business operation,and what kind of intermediate mechanism will affect the business operation results.Taking manufacturing enterprises as an example,digital transformation has completely subverted the internal pattern of enterprises,and has affected enterprise performance based on its role in key management links.Therefore,clarifying the process path is conducive to improving the performance of existing manufacturing enterprises,as well as providing reference for the latecomers.First of all,based on the review of relevant literature on the development of digital economy,the characteristics and advantages of digital transformation of manufacturing enterprises,and enterprise performance,it is roughly believed that digital transformation is a powerful tool for manufacturing enterprises to gain competitive advantages and improve organizational performance in the digital economy era.Then,it is clear that intermediary variables and regulatory variables are identified to build a process model for digital transformation to promote the performance of manufacturing enterprises.Secondly,this paper empirically tests the impact of digital transformation on organizational performance by setting 11 proxy variables,totaling 3575 data values,based on the data of 65 leading manufacturing enterprises in Shanghai and Shenzhen A-shares from 2016 to 2020.The research finds that digital transformation has a positive impact on the organizational performance of manufacturing enterprises;From the perspective of process mechanism,digital transformation increases organizational performance by reducing operating costs,improving innovation capability,and improving production efficiency;The service level plays a negative role in the process of digital transformation to reduce operating costs,and a positive role in the process of digital transformation to enhance innovation capability.Finally,the management enlightenment of this paper is: in the process of digital transformation,the leading role of government and leaders is crucial;The operation,product innovation and production links of manufacturing enterprises should make corresponding changes in line with the transformation and development strategy;We should pay attention to the regulatory role of service leading logic in the digital transformation stage of enterprises.
