The manufacturing industry is the backbone of China's economy. In the context of supply-side structural reforms, the digital transformation of manufacturing enterprises is an important path for China to achieve an aim of strong manufacturing country and high-quality economic development.Although a large number of companies have perceived the urgency of digital transformation and invested a lot of resources to promote the integration of digital technologies, only a few companies have achieved significant performance improvements. How manufacturing companies can get rid of the transformation dilemma and achieve high-efficiency digital transformation has become a hot spot of widespread concern from all walks of life. Therefore,it is of great practical significance to study the impact of digitalization on the transformation of manufacturing enterprises, and to reveal the key factors that affect the performance of digital transformation and upgrading of manufacturing enterprises and their mechanism of action. This article first explains the importance of the development of the digital economy in the context of rapid innovation and development of digital technology.Facing the impact of digital technology, traditional manufacturing companies urgently need to integrate digital technology to seek transformation and development, and to increase the added value of their products and operation performance.Based on previous research, combed the connotation, driving and influencing factors of strategic transformation and digital transformation of manufacturing enterprises,as well as the effectiveness and results of implementing digital transformation, combined with the resource-based view and contingency theory, and according to the theoretical framework of TOE,from technology, organization and environment Three dimensions define and identify the categories of influencing factors of digital transformation. On this basis,a model of conditional configuration influencing factors of the effectiveness of digital transformation of manufacturing enterprises based on the TOE framework is constructed, and digital investment,R&D intensity, endogenous financing capabilities, and enterprises are proposed.Research hypotheses that scale, knowledge and technology intensity, and environmental complexity affect the effectiveness of digital transformation.Through the Fuzzy Set Qualitative Comparative Analysis(fs QCA),six configuration paths of influencing factors leading to high-efficiency digital transformation have been identified and analyzed.Based on the above research,it is concluded that if manufacturing companies desire to successfully realize digital transformation, they must pay attention to the two core elements of digital investment and endogenous financing capabilities within the organization.High R&D investment intensity is still a strong support for enterprises to achieve efficient transformation. The complexity of the environment faced by business operations is conducive to playing the catfish effect and pushing companies to seek change in the uncertainties. Finally, this article combines the research results and puts forward countermeasures and suggestions for digital transformation of manufacturing enterprises.
