From Text To Sound: A Study On The Cross-media Communication Of The Three-Body Proble

With the development of digital technology,the function and role of books have undergone tremendous changes.Books have jumped out of the communication circle of printed materials,and through sound,image and other technical reconstruction,they are moving towards an infinitely derivative and open cross-media mode of communication.The Three-body Problem is a typical case in this field.As a representative work of Chinese science fiction,The Three-body Problem has been born in the traditional printing media world since 2006.Today,it has established a huge cross-media communication system that accommodates magazines,text books,picture books,audio books,animation,TV dramas and other multi-media products.This paper will describe in detail the cross-media communication process of the The Three-body Problem,and focus on the specific route from text to sound communication.Through the comprehensive book communication,Intermediality,cross-media communication,transmedia storytelling and other theoretical tools for interpretation and analysis,with the help of network ethnography,text analysis and other research methods,it is hoped that by analyzing the particularity and generality of the case in cross-media communication,we will try to describe the new mode of book communication in the digital age.This paper intends to answer the following four questions : What is the main body of production and dissemination of different media products? What are the key forces that promote the The Three-body Problem across various media? What are the factors that determine the speed and success of media leapfrogging ?What does this continuous leap and derivative media form mean to the The Three-body Problem and even books?The preliminary study found that the The Three-body Problem can become a successful example of cross-media communication,which is determined by the communication potential of the text itself,the key nodes of each communication stage,media technology and industrial environment.At present,the sound communication of the Three-Body Problem takes precedence over film communication,which is also related to the overall environment of Chinese science fiction communication.The Three-body Problem from text communication to sound communication is an innovative communication,which is a process of media ’ fermentation ’ that can improve the communication effect and expand the scope of communication.By clarifying the communication subject and network communication system of The Three-body Problem in each communication stage,this paper believes that high-quality books are an excellent source of communication in the era of digital communication.The continuous derivative creation process of cross-media products is an important path to resist the entropy increase trend of low-level information expansion.
