With the great enrichment of material life,people's demand for spiritual and cultural aspects is growing,including the pursuit of fashion lifestyle.The spread of fashion information is completed by fashion magazines for a long time.As a kind of small life books,fashion books have not been published in a large scale and have not attracted enough attention in the academic circle.With the advent of the digital era,the popular influence of mainstream fashion magazines is declining.In the process of digitalization and networking,fashion content is constantly moving towards the direction of popularization.Everyone can get first-hand fashion information and become the creator of popular fashion.Self media has become a window to expand the public's vision and an opportunity for the growth of fashion publishing.This paper takes the publishing situation of fashion books as the research object,combs its development process several times,and analyzes its development status from the perspectives of book content,author positioning,typesetting and binding,book marketing,reader feedback,etc.,aiming at the current fashion book publishing mode and characteristics,and finds the development dilemma of fashion books in the self media environment.Fashion books are facing the problems of over dependence on the imported version of books and large vacancy of original books;lack ofprofessional quality and creative ability of authors,resulting in the lack of stable and high-quality author team in the whole fashion book publishing field;lack of detailed market concept due to insufficient excavation of fashion materials,resulting in serious homogenization of book content and Book quality to be improved;and The excessive concentration of marketing activities in the early stage of book listing and excessive reliance on the behavior of converting readers from internet fans lead to the lack of sustainability of the marketing mode of fashionable books.Through interviews,this paper analyzes the case of fashion books which are widely concerned by the society under the background of self media,and through comparative study with other typical fashion books at home and abroad,from its publishing experience to learn from the advantages and avoid the disadvantages,in order to put forward the strategies of reference value for the development of fashion books from the perspective of practical operation of publishing.The optimization suggestions are as follows: not only to absorb the publishing experience of excellent imported books,but also to create an atmosphere of actively developing original fashion books;not only to evaluate the author's fashion literacy and creative ability,but also to encourage the author to continuously output and create;not only to combine fashion topics with other humanities knowledge,but also to pay attention to more subdivided areas of fashion culture And topics: we should not only give full play to the IP influence of fashion writers on the self media,and transform their fans into the first batch of readers after the publication of books,but also expand the reader group through multi-level long-term publicity,guide readers' feedback and other means,so that more people can benefit from it.I hope that the research process and results of this paper can provide useful reference for the development of Fashion Book Publishing in the context of self media.For the public,it is better to meet the growing needs of readers for deep fashion information and high-quality fashion books;for the fashion industry,it is necessary to enrich the transmission channels of fashion information and provide a reference mode for many excellent fashion writers to create books;for the publishing industry,it is necessary to expand the publishing power of fashion books and enrichthe types of fashion books.
