| In recent years, with the continuous evolution and acceleration of society, the media ecology has changed dramatically. The audience and advertisers of urban newspapers are constantly losing, their business performance is declining sharply, and their influence and dissemination are gradually declining.Urban newspapers, which were at the peak of advertising revenue more than a decade ago, have less and less share in today’s fast-growing media industry, and their journalists are in a long-term unstable state, with a large number of journalists leaving their jobs and transferring their posts. At present,in order to meet the needs of the deep integration of media, the news of the closure, suspension, transfer and merger of urban newspapers is constantly coming, and the pressure on journalists is accelerating to accumulate, showing a clear state of job burnout, which to some extent hinders the development of personal career and news organizations. In order to understand the current situation of job burnout of journalists in urban newspapers, this paper takes journalists in Shanxi metropolitan newspapers as the research object, and uses the job burnout scale of journalists in metropolitan newspapers and the job stress scale of journalists in metropolitan newspapers as the research tools.First of all,the author of the Shanxi provincial and municipal newspapers conducted in-depth visits and detailed observation records.Secondly, the author conducted a questionnaire survey of 101 news practitioners in Shanxi metropolitan newspapers, and interviewed 20 of them. This paper is divided into five parts: The introduction part introduces the research background and significance, the research status of job burnout at home and abroad, research methods, experimental scheme,as well as the innovation and shortcomings of the study. The first chapter analyzes the environment and current situation of urban newspapers and their practitioners. The analysis shows that the internal and external development environment of metropolitan newspapers is grim and is in recession, and the journalists of metropolitan newspapers have shown obvious job burnout. The second chapter is the level and demographic characteristics of job burnout of urban newspaper journalists. The data analysis of job burnout scale shows that the journalists of urban newspapers in Shanxi show “moderate” burnout as a whole,in which the dimension of alienation is the highest;journalists with different demographic characteristics show different degrees of job burnout, the level of emotional exhaustion in males is higher than that in females, and the level of burnout was highest in the age group of 51-60.The third chapter is the analysis of the causes of job burnout of urban newspaper journalists.Stress scale data analysis shows that there is a significant correlation between job burnout and work stress. The pressure that leads to the burnout of journalists is mainly the environmental pressure of media organizations in the external environmental pressure;the internal individual attribution of the burnout of journalists includes the “indifference” of news ideals, the lack of news business ability, and the inadaptability of personality traits and journalism. The fourth chapter is the intervention and prevention of job burnout of urban newspaper journalists. In view of the causes of job burnout, the corresponding intervention and preventive measures are given. |
