The rise of social media has brought opportunities for the dissemination of scientific knowledge.Science popularization has become popular on various social platforms through short video formats.At the same time,the establishment of Bilibili’s "Knowledge Zone" and the demand for knowledge content from users have led to the rapid spread of science popularization videos on Bilibili.This study focuses on the production and dissemination of food science popularization short videos on the Bilibili platform,using content analysis as the main research method.Twenty high-heat food science popularization videos on Bilibili were selected as research objects during a certain period.After quantitatively analyzing the relevant video indicators,the audience and creators of food science popularization short videos,as well as their production and dissemination characteristics,were analyzed.Meanwhile,the problems of science popularization short videos on Bilibili were also analyzed,with the aim of exploring how to effectively improve the production and dissemination of science popularization videos and guide future practices.The study found that Bilibili’s popular food science popularization short videos have the characteristics of timely topic participation,professional content creation,and diverse production methods.In terms of dissemination,with the help of users’ secondary creation,platform algorithm recommendations,and close interaction between creators and users,food science popularization short videos on Bilibili have gained the love of many users.At the same time,Bilibili’s food science popularization videos also face problems such as homogeneous content,inaccurate information transmission,and excessive commercialization.Suggestions were made to address these issues,including the endorsement of professional knowledge,the introduction of certification mechanisms,and the insistence on content quality.
