| With the upgrading of the cultural industry and the progress of social spiritual civilization, public libraries are also constantly expanding their service scope, and cultural and creative products are the way for public libraries to perform their social functions and innovate their service methods in the new era. However, with the widespread popularity of the Internet and digital technology,as well as changes in public consumption concepts and demands, traditional cultural and creative products are being impacted.Digital collections may become a new direction in the cultural and creative work of public libraries, innovating the production, dissemination, and utilization of library resources, enhancing the functional capabilities of public cultural content, and complying with the national cultural digitization strategy.Digital collections are becoming increasingly popular, and more and more cultural and cultural relics units have entered the ranks.Currently, public libraries have begun to develop digital collections, and in the future, more public libraries will join them. The development practice urgently needs theoretical guidance. However, there is still little research at home and abroad focusing on the theme of digital collections in public libraries, especially lacking a development perspective. This research focuses on the development strategies of digital collections in public libraries, analyzes the development elements and processes, and aims to fill some research gaps and provide theoretical guidance. It has strong practical significance.Firstly,by reviewing a large number of documents, combing the current research situation at home and abroad, clarifying digital collections and related concepts, discussing the significance of developing digital collections in public libraries, and laying a theoretical foundation for research.Secondly, investigate the current situation of digital collections in public libraries from both the demand side and the supply side.On the supply side, based on the national cultural construction policy, the characteristics of public libraries, and the market situation of digital collections,a situation analysis was conducted. Then,an online survey was conducted to investigate the only two public libraries in China engaged in the development of digital collections-National Library of China and Shandong Library. The survey period was from September 2022 to November 2022.Unilateral and detailed analysis of the existing 21 digital collections from types, development models, and development elements, summarizing characteristics, and analyzing existing issues. On the demand side,a questionnaire was designed based on the three-level cultural theory and Kano model, and widely distributed to collect consumers’ willingness and their influencing factors to purchase digital collections from public libraries. The results showed that regional culture, historical culture, commemorativeness, and storytelling were classified as charm attributes, while the remaining attributes were classified as non difference attributes; In addition,a customer satisfaction coefficient is also introduced to more directly reflect the difference in the impact of attributes at the same level on customer satisfaction through a customer satisfaction quadrant diagram, further analyzing user demand categories, thereby laying a solid foundation for reality. Finally,to solve the problem, based on the supply side and demand side situations, analyze the mismatch and contradiction between the two,and provide a basis for proposing strategies. At the same time, considering that the development of digital collections by domestic public libraries is not yet mature,we also investigated the development status of digital collections in relatively mature museums, compared and analyzed the digital collections of public libraries and museums, introduced the best practice experience of museums, and proposed targeted A development strategy with strong operability and sustainability can improve the quality and competitiveness of digital collections, and assist in cultural inheritance and dissemination. |
