Evolutionary Characteristics Of The Innovation Network Of Integrated Circuit Industry In Yangtze River Delta And Its Innovation Effect

Abstract/Summary:
In the era of knowledge economy,innovation has become the power source of economic and social development.Enhancing the independent innovation capability of IC industry is not only beneficial to the sustainable development of the whole information industry itself,but also can promote the high-quality development of regional social economy.The relationship between industrial innovation network and regional innovation capacity has also received attention from academia.The Yangtze River Delta is one of the regions with the most active economic development,the highest degree of openness and the strongest innovation capacity in China,and occupies a pivotal strategic position in the Chinese-style modernization construction.Analyzing the spatial characteristics of the innovation network of the IC industry and its influence on the regional innovation effect in Yangtze River Delta is not only beneficial to enrich the research content of innovation geography,but also to the healthy development of the IC industry in Yangtze River Delta.In this paper,we analyze the impact of the cooperation intensity of the innovation network of the IC industry on the innovation capacity at three spatial scales: within the cities of the Yangtze River Delta,between the cities of the Yangtze River Delta,and between the Yangtze River Delta and its external cities,and clarify the moderating role of the diversification of the city-related knowledge base on the development and evolution of the innovation network of the IC industry.With the help of Ucinet,Gephi,Arc GIS and other related software,the spatio-temporal evolution of the innovation network of the IC industry in the Yangtze River Delta is analyzed,and its topology and characteristics are summarized.And the negative binomial regression model is used to analyze the relationship between the cooperation intensity and innovation capability of three spatial scale innovation networks with the help of Stata and other related software,and the moderating effect of the diversification level of related knowledge base in different cities is tested.The main findings of the paper are as follows:(1)The spatial distribution of innovation network cooperation intensity in the Yangtze River Delta IC industry is uneven.In general,the innovation cooperation intensity of the Yangtze River Delta is,in descending order,between the Yangtze River Delta and its external cities,within the Yangtze River Delta cities,and between the Yangtze River Delta cities.In terms of time evolution,the intensity of innovation network cooperation at three spatial scales: between the Yangtze River Delta and its external cities,between the Yangtze River Delta cities and within the Yangtze River Delta cities has been increasing.(2)Different spatial scales and different industrial chain links of innovation cooperation contribute differently to the development of the Yangtze River Delta IC innovation network.In terms of the magnitude of the positive contribution to the innovation capacity of the urban IC industry,it is the largest within the Yangtze River Delta cities,the second largest among the Yangtze River Delta cities,and the smallest between the Yangtze River Delta and its external cities.Meanwhile,the impact of different links of the industry chain on the level of innovation varies.For cities in the design chain,innovation cooperation does not improve the level of innovation;for cities in the manufacturing chain,innovation cooperation plays a significant role in improving the level of innovation,and the effect of innovation cooperation with cities outside the Yangtze River Delta is particularly significant;for cities in the packaging and testing chain and cities in the equipment and materials chain,innovation cooperation helps to improve the level of innovation,and the size of the improvement effect shows that The magnitude of the improvement effect shows that the internal innovation cooperation is greater than the inter-city innovation cooperation,and even greater than the innovation cooperation between the Yangtze River Delta and its external cities.(3)Diversification of city-related knowledge base not only significantly contributes to the improvement of the innovation level of IC industries,but also plays a positive moderating role in the process of innovation cooperation for the improvement of innovation capability,and this moderating effect increases with the expansion of spatial scale.Moreover,this moderating effect varies in cities dominated by different industry chain segments.The diversified knowledge base of design,manufacturing,and packaging and testing cities can promote the innovative cooperation of IC industry into innovation effect;however,the diversified knowledge base of equipment and material cities can only promote the innovative cooperation of IC industry into innovation effect among cities in Yangtze River Delta and between Yangtze River Delta and its external cities.In summary,this paper analyzes the differences in innovation effects at three spatial scales: within the Yangtze River Delta cities,between the Yangtze River Delta cities,and between the Yangtze River Delta and its external cities,The countermeasure suggestions such as promoting the construction of innovation community are proposed.
