| As the aging population and digital wave intertwine, the issue of inter-generational differences between middle-aged and elderly groups and younger generations is increasingly prominent.Especially after the outbreak of COVID-19,health communication has received more attention. At the same time, the rise of women’s consciousness in modern society also provides an opportunity for in-depth research on women’s health communication. This article conducts in-depth interviews with 15 mother-daughter pairs in university families based on the family domain, studies the health communication activities of women within the family, summarizes the main content of health communication between mothers and daughters, and systematically sorts out the changes in health communication behaviors of both parties during women’s growth.Using the research framework of the digital divide, the study found that compared with the traditional media era,the digital divide in women’s health information has been further widened in terms of access scenarios, usage methods, and health literacy. The digital divide to some extent bridges this gap,but the problem still needs to be further explored from a female perspective to uncover its core. From the perspective of care ethics, the unique maternal thinking, subject consciousness, and growth process of women deepen the connection between mother and daughter, making women’s health communication more private and emotional. This study found that,on the one hand, from the perspective of inter-generational relationships, different from the research conclusions mainly focused on the support of the younger generation in the past, female parents not only actively participate in the process of health feedback but also actively participate in peer-to-peer health communication through the connection and resonance of female groups.Due to insufficient awareness of the value of health and negative impacts of growth experience, the younger generation has a passive expression in self-care and support. On the other hand, from the characteristics of women’s health communication, health communication research should broaden its perspective, value women’s growth experience and caring behavior, emphasize emotional expression and self-identity in communication, and achieve the goal of improving social health levels. |
