With the continuous integration and development of the world economy,international competition among enterprises from various countries is becoming increasingly fierce.Countries and industries are constantly improving their brand awareness and competitiveness,hoping to occupy a place in the broader international market.China is no exception.Social media such as daily,workplace,marriage and entertainment are emerging in endlessly.Social media enterprises such as Tencent and Tiktok,which are domestic leaders,both have the highest number of registered and active people in the world.Social media enterprises integrate the characteristics of topic diversity,instant communication,and interactive flexibility with the attributes of comprehensive content,personalized media,and scenario-based display,greatly surpassing the limitations of traditional communication on time,space,and audience,in order to continuously enrich people’s communication methods.Based on the impact of the rapid development of social media on various aspects of daily life,this paper lists social media enterprises as the research object.This paper mainly delves into the concepts and theoretical foundations related to social media and international competitiveness,using case analysis as the main method,supplemented by literature analysis,comparative analysis,and survey analysis to comprehensively compare and analyze the development history and current situation of social media in China and the United States,the overall development situation of Tencent and Meta,and the internationalization development process,Through a deep comparative study of Tencent and Meta’s external and internal environmental competitiveness factors,it was found that the international competitiveness gap between Chinese and American social media companies is mainly influenced by factors such as differences in network infrastructure between China and the United States,the ability of enterprises to innovate and lead demand,the quality of the business environment created by countries and regions,the profitability model and development strategy of enterprises,On this basis,further suggestions are proposed to improve the overall and regional network infrastructure construction of the country,enhance the innovation and productivity of enterprises,improve the business environment of enterprises,cultivate and absorb multi-dimensional talents,improve network legal supervision,and establish international social media in China.This paper mainly proposes and answers the comparative study on the international competitiveness of Chinese and American social media enterprises,including the current development situation of social media in China and the United States,whether there is a gap,when the gap starts,and how to reduce it.It also explores the possibility of alternative social media in the two countries catching up with Tencent and Meta,and attempts to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of social media and different social development perspectives based on previous analysis by scholars from all walks of life,From the perspective of internationalization and international competitiveness,using specific cases and relevant data to study and analyze the social media industry and social media enterprises has certain research value and significance in exploring thinking.
