A Study On The 2021 Henan Rainstorm Report By Dahe Daily From The Perspective Of News Narratolog

On July 20,2021,central and northern Henan Province were hit by unusually heavy rainfall,in which the rainfall in Xinxiang,Zhengzhou,Kaifeng,Luoyang and Zhoukou in Henan Province exceeded the historical maximum since meteorological records were kept.The disaster event was widely affected,the disaster loss was serious and social attention was high.The news media plays a key role in guiding social opinion and transmitting disaster information.As the provincial newspaper in Henan where the rainstorm occurred,Dahe Daily,with its local characteristics,had an obvious narrative head effect and outstanding performance during this period,and played a pivotal role in the dissemination of the disaster as the opinion leader of the rainstorm in Henan.It is important to study the thinking and characteristics of the news coverage of Dahe Daily in this event to further analyze the level of mainstream media in guiding public opinion and improving disaster news coverage.This paper uses news narrative theory,content analysis method and case study method to study the coverage of Dahe Daily during the heavy rainfall in Henan Province,aiming to study the narrative mode and narrative characteristics of disaster event coverage based on specific texts,find out its narrative shortcomings,and provide a reference and reference path for disaster coverage by mainstream media.
