With the continuous development of media technology and the penetration of digitalization in social life, people’s original rules and behaviors are changing. In rural areas, young people can quickly adapt to digital society due to their strong learning ability, while older parents have difficulties integrating into digital society quickly. Thus the "digital feeding back" from children to parents is common in rural society.Based on the above background, this paper conducted in-depth interviews with eight families in T Village,Zao Yang City,Hubei Province. It analyzed the interview data using rooting theory to explore the digital back-feeding of parents by children in rural families in terms of We Chat use.The realistic basis for the successful implementation of digital back-feeding in rural areas, the specific situation of digital back-feeding within families, and the problems faced were analyzed, and corresponding suggestions for improving digital back-feeding were proposed in response to these problems. The study found that the content of digital feedback can be divided into three aspects: digital skills level, digital literacy level, and self-efficacy.The children’s self-efficacy with their parents was prioritized over other feedback. The children helped their parents build up their confidence in learning new media by enhancing their self-efficacy and opening up the channel of digital feedback.Given the poor enthusiasm of parents to feedback in rural families,as well as the low level of offspring’s back-feeding and the single way of feeding back, this paper puts forward two suggestions: on the one hand, parents should face their new media knowledge, skills, etc.deficiencies exist. They should then proactively seek help from their offspring; On the other hand, the offspring must also assume the responsibility of their parents to connect the "last mile" of the digital society and actively provide digital feedback to their parents.
