Nowadays, exploring ways to use digital learning resources efficiently and improving data literacy among university students have become an inevitable choice to enhance personal core competitiveness and adapt to the development of talents in the new era.At present, research on data literacy is in its infancy, especially whether the use of digital learning resources has an impact on students’ data literacy in higher education needs to be further explored. Therefore, the research theme of the thesis is determined-to explore how the use of digital learning resources affects the data literacy of university students. To explore this issue, the thesis is based on data lifecycle theory, technology acceptance model, value co-creation theory and immersion experience theory.A structural equation model was developed to explore the mechanism of the use of digital learning resources on the data literacy of university students and to analyze the mediating role of value perception and immersion experience.A total of 4,911 original samples were collected from students in 31 provinces and cities across China, and 2,655 valid samples were obtained after rigorous screening. The empirical analysis was conducted in four main aspects: firstly, descriptive statistics were used to identify the demographic characteristics of university students in terms of gender, subject background, and education level;furthermore, the study analyzed and interpreted the current situation of digital learning resources use and data literacy among university students;finally, the effects of demographic variables on the use of digital learning resources, data literacy, immersion experience and value perception were analyzed by means of a difference-in-difference test. The results showed that the use of digital learning resources had a partially significant effect on data literacy among university students, with motivation to use digital learning resources and habits of using digital learning resources having a significant positive effect on data literacy, and intention to use digital learning resources having a non-significant effect on data literacy. In terms of mediating effect, the results proved that value perception and immersion experience showed a chain mediating effect between digital learning resource use and data literacy. In the test of difference, there were significant differences between gender on data literacy and immersion experience;significant differences between different levels of education on data literacy and immersion experience;and significant differences between disciplinary background on data literacy and immersion experience. The paper is highly innovative in terms of research objects and research tools, and gives concrete suggestions: first, increase the construction of digital learning resources and build an external ecology of data literacy in universities;second, focus on the teaching design of digital learning resources and build a data education curriculum system in universities;third, build a platform for data application in universities and strengthen competence training and practical innovation;fourth, enhance the value co-creation role of students in universities and Sound evaluation and incentive mechanism. |
