Abstract/Summary:
Guangxi is located in the frontier,the economy is relatively backward,the early of the Republic of China,Guangxi instability,social unrest,"the new department of Guangxi" to power,attaches great importance to education,vigorously develop the cultural education in Guangxi,coupled with a large number of scholars,educators during the Anti-Japanese War into Guangxi,Guangxi education career also once a scene of prosperity.In such a historical period,educational periodicals,as a media,have played a unique role.Based on 70 educational periodicals in Guangxi during the Period of the Republic of China,this paper finds that the development of them has roughly experienced four stages: germination stage,development stage,prosperity stage and decline stage.During the Period of China,the distribution of educational periodicals in Guangxi was very unbalanced,and two publishing centers were formed,namely Guilin and Nanning.In the period of the Republic of China,there were four main types of educational periodicals in Guangxi.According to the number of educational periodicals,they were school departments,educational departments and other official institutions,newspapers and periodicals,and public education organizations.In the period of the Republic of China,the publishing cycle of educational periodicals in Guangxi was mainly monthly,including semi-monthly,weekly,quarterly,irregular,daily,ten-day,bi-weekly,February,semi-annual and annual.During the Republic of China period,the distribution methods of Guangxi education journals were mainly retail and fixed reading,most of the journals were distributed in the province,but some journals were issued throughout the country,even overseas,and flexible pricing according to mailing distance,fixed reading time and so on.In the period of the Republic of China,the publication of educational periodicals in Guangxi can be seen the purpose or purpose of their founding.Most of the periodicals regard promoting education and developing culture as their responsibility,and attach great importance to the significance of education,regard education as the basis of all social activities,as the tool of national liberation and human liberation.In the period of the Republic of China,the contents of Guangxi educational periodicals mainly include educational laws,decrees and instructions.Educational treatises,research and learning methods;Introduction of education at home and abroad;Literary and artistic works;Messages and communications,etc.In the period of the Republic of China,the editing of educational periodicals in Guangxi had three main functions: to publish their own thoughts and suggestions on articles published and letters from readers,to forecast recent periodicals and to invite educational colleagues to contribute,to understand the shortcomings of their own journals and to correct them humbly.In the period of the Republic of China,the cover design and layout design of educational periodicals in Guangxi were relatively simple,which could be roughly divided into simple style and artistic style.Overall,during the Republic of China period,Guangxi’s educational journals showed distinct pragmatic and regional characteristics.Finally,combined with the theories of the sociology of knowledge and the threestate concept of consciousness,the Guangxi education journals in the Republic of China period were studied,and it was found that in the social environment at that time,Guangxi education journals had certain historical value in developing government-run periodicals and maintaining the stability of the regime;inspiring national consciousness and inheriting national culture;disseminating educational news and uniting the educational group;disseminating educational theories and popularizing public knowledge;promoting educational development and promoting educational practice.Deficiencies such as lack of initiative.Nowadays,the publication of contemporary educational journals should learn from experience,make up for shortcomings,disseminate new ideas while not forgetting to inherit national culture,and strive to promote the development of educational practice,enhance local awareness,establish reader awareness,and build a stable team of editorial talents to ensure the high-quality development of journals.
