Practical Research On Social Work Intervention In The Social Support System For Children In Difficult Situation

Children are the hope of a country’s future,and as one of the vulnerable groups,children in difficult situations are also a special group in our society.In recent years,the issue of assistance and protection for children in difficult situations has gradually attracted attention.The Ministry of Civil Affairs has proposed to provide classified assistance to children in difficult situations.Among them,the type of children in difficult situations who lack effective parental care,namely "custody of children in difficult situations",has also entered the public’s perspective.In the absence of effective family protection,custody of children in difficult situations requires all parties to work together to strengthen their social support to compensate for various problems caused by insufficient family support.As a professional force,social work can play a unique advantage in the construction of social support systems for children in difficult situations.Based on social support theory and ecosystem theory,this study used participatory observation methods to conduct household visits to children and families in custody difficulties served by S institutions in F District of Beijing,and conducted in-depth interviews with institutional supervisors,psychological teachers,child directors,and community workers to summarize the issues of custody difficulties in children’s material lives,mental health,family custody,academic learning,and sources of social support,Analyze the cognitive,emotional,and behavioral support needs of children with custody difficulties.In addition,we will conduct a case study for one of the families of children in custody difficulties,assist the case owner in building a social support system,improve the case owner’s ability to use social support,help the case owner get out of difficulties,and promote their ability development.After the service is completed,we will evaluate and summarize the service,and explore how the case work should be involved in building a social support system for children in custody difficulties.This article believes that social work,as a scientific and helpful discipline,has important practical significance in promoting the construction of social support systems for children and families in custody difficulties.Therefore,the social support system for monitoring children in difficult situations can be involved in the following aspects.At the micro level,it is necessary to help case owners enhance their original support,guide case owners and families to establish awareness of social support systems,and enhance their ability to utilize social support.At the medium level,on the one hand,it is necessary to coordinate the implementation of professional services from social organizations,and on the other hand,it is also necessary to strengthen informal support from community neighbors.At the macro level,it is necessary to link the basic guarantees provided by government policies,and more importantly,to form a long-term mechanism to enhance the sustainability of the social support system built for children in difficult situations.
