In 2020,China has achieved a great victory in the comprehensive construction of a well-off society, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent "Fourteenth Five-Year Plan" development and achieving my country’s second century-old struggle goal.To realize the dream of socialism’s modernization and the great rejuvenation of China, the people of the country must persist in continuing to move towards the essence of common prosperity. However, the imbalance of regional development is a major issue facing my country’s economic development. The contradiction between the income distribution gap between the income distribution of imbalance and inadequate development still needs to be resolved. At the same time, the rise of the digital economy brought about by the development of the new generation of Internet and communication technology has aroused widespread focus on international and domestic countries.Countries worldwide are scrambling to implement relevant policies and measures to develop the digital economy. All walks of life have a profound impact, including my country’s income distribution structure. On the one hand, the development of the digital economy depends on the driver of digital technology, while digital technology has the ease of nature, versatility, and convenience. It can provide entrepreneurship for residents in rural areas in my country by reducing transaction costs and reducing the path of financing barriers in China. Moreover, job opportunities reduce the urban-rural disparity, and then influence the income gap.On the other hand, the problem of digital gaps derived from the development of the Internet also exer a subtle effect on revenue gap between urban and rural areas. Therefore, studying the relationship between the digital economy and the disparity in income between town and country can better guide the development of the digital economy in various regions of my country, and it is of great significance to solve the problem of regional imbalances and achieve common prosperity. In this paper,on the basis of reading and sorting out a large number of literature,at the same time, with the help of urban and rural dual economic structure theory and information asymmetry, theoretically analyzes the direct effect of the digital economy for the difference in income between city and countryside, the space effect and the two between the two The conduction mechanism and put forward the assumptions of this article. Then, this article builds a digital economic indicator system that includes three secondary indicators and 18 three-level indicators. It uses the main component analysis and entropy authority method of the digital economy development level in various regions of my country. The income gap is measured, and the panel data about China’s 30 provinces and cities(excluding Tibet)from2012-2019 combined with six control variables. Finally, this paper uses the above data to build an individual fixed effect model, spatial effect model, and mediation effect model in order to achieve this empirical analysis, and assist stability and heterogeneous analysis to perform improvement analysis.Based on the study of this paper,we get the following conclusions: First, the digital economy has developed steadily, and the disparity of income between town and country has gradually improved.Second, the development level of the digital economy has a non-linear impact on the difference of income between town and country in my country.Third, economic development degree, the opening up level, and education level will also affect the difference of income between town and country in China.Fourth, the huge development and growth of our country’s digital economy has a space overflow effect on the difference between urban and rural income in neighboring provinces or cities.Fifth,Chinese digital economy development level can also affect the industrial structure upgrade index, thereby indirectly converging the disparity in income between town and country.Sixth, the influence of the digital economy on the disparity in income between town and country has the degree of development of digital economy and the differences between regions. This paper has three major contributions,as follows: First of all,the index system constructed in this paper introduces the secondary index of digital innovation level, further improves the digital economy accounting index system, and uses the clustering algorithm to cluster and analyze the digital economy of the measured provinces and cities to better understand the development degree of digital economy in various regions in China.Secondly, this paper has many research methods on the impact of digital economy on urban-rural income gap, from the three perspectives of direct effect, spatial effect and intermediary effect, auxiliary heterogeneity test and robustness test, and comprehensively study the impact of digital economy on urban and rural income gap in China, which provides strong support for the policy proposal of this paper. Finally, this paper finds that there is a nonlinear relationship between the impact of digital economy on urban-rural income gap,and discusses its mediating role in the impact of digital economy on China’s urban-rural income gap from the perspective of industrial structure upgrading. |
