After years of explosive growth,the market of fingerprint identification chips for mobile phones has gradually changed from incremental market to stock market.The competition in this field is becoming increasingly fierce.As a small and medium-sized chip company with business focuses on mobile fingerprint identification market,A Company is facing a tight profit in supply chain and the lower shipments of mobile phone and tablet segments in consumer electronics market.It is urgent to improve the inventory management level to reduce operating costs and maintain the development of the company.By consulting and studying relevant theories of supply chain demand forecasting and inventory management and their applications,this thesis conducts research on the development of fingerprint identification industry,basic situation of the company and its current inventory management status.Research methods such as literature research,trend analysis,and ratio analysis are used to identify problems with inventory management in demand forecasting,obsolete inventory handling,on-site management efficiency,and information system.After analyzing the identified problems,four main reasons for the company’s inventory management problems are identified,namely the unreasonable demand forecasting process,the lack of scientific safety stock standards,the increase of inventory nodes and inefficient circulation caused by segmented outsourcing,and the unsuitability of the information system.Therefore,this thesis clarifies the goals and principles of inventory management optimization for the company at first,and then proposes corresponding solutions based on qualitative and quantitative forecasting methods,safety stock formulas,obsolete inventory classification management,material coding principles and applications,ERP inventory management theories and methods,and other relevant theories.These solutions include improving the demand forecasting process and methods,setting safety stock standards scientifically,establishing obsolete inventory handling and warning mechanism,optimizing the circulation mechanism of transfer between outsourcing suppliers,upgrading the ERP system’s inventory management module.During the process,the feasibility of these solutions is demonstrated.Additionally,this article proposes measures to ensure the implementation of the solutions and improve their execution effectiveness.Under the guidance of scientific theories and methods,the inventory management process and methods of A company become more reasonable and effective.This thesis takes A company as the object of study,which has guiding significance for the company to improve its inventory management level.At the same time,it can also be used as a reference for other small and medium-size enterprises in Fingerprint Chip Industry to optimize their inventory management.
