| Cultivating students’ mathematical core literacy is an important task and goal of mathematics education today, and cultivating students’ mathematical operation ability and logical reasoning ability is an important guarantee for improving their mathematical core literacy. The key period for the development of students’ mathematical thinking is mainly the junior high school stage, among which the cognition of the second grade students of junior high school is the "formal operation stage" of Piaget’s cognitive development stage theory, which is conducive to cultivating students’ mathematical operation ability and logical reasoning ability.Taking a middle school in Kunming,Yunnan Province as an example, this study investigates the current situation of mathematical arithmetic ability and logical reasoning ability of junior high school students, explores the relationship between the two and the impact of the two on mathematical performance, and then puts forward training suggestions.According to the purpose of the research, the following questions are asked: 1、What is the current status of mathematical and logical reasoning ability of junior high school students? 2、What is the relationship between mathematical operation ability and logical reasoning ability of junior high school students? 3、What is the correlation between mathematical arithmetic ability and logical reasoning ability and mathematical performance of junior high school students?4、What measures should teachers take to cultivate students’ mathematical and logical reasoning skills? In order to answer the above questions, this paper has examined and revised the relevant data test papers, and proposed the "Mathematical Computing Ability Test Paper for Junior 2 Students" and the "Test Paper for Logical Reasoning Ability for Junior 2 Students".The reliability and validity of the test paper is tested through pre-testing,and the formal test is carried out after revision.A statistical analysis of the obtained data was carried out and the conclusions were as follows:1、The mathematics ability of the second year of junior high school students is generally at the passing level, and there is no statistical difference between different genders. The logical reasoning ability of the second year of junior high school students was generally at the upper passing level, and there was no statistical difference between different genders.2 、 The mathematical operation ability of junior high school students is significantly positively correlated with logical reasoning ability, and mathematical operation ability can positively affect logical reasoning ability.3、The mathematical arithmetic ability and logical reasoning ability of the second year of junior high school students were significantly positively correlated with mathematical performance.Compared with logical reasoning ability, mathematical operation ability has a greater impact on mathematical performance.4、There are differences in mathematical arithmetic ability and logical reasoning ability in groups of different academic levels.According to the research conclusions, the following suggestions are put forward to cultivate students’ mathematical operation ability and logical reasoning ability:Emphasize mathematical operations and attach importance to arithmetic algorithms;Strengthen basic knowledge and value simple thinking;Create reasonable situations and strengthen logical reasoning;Follow logical laws and improve overall cognition;Strengthen arithmetic training and improve logical reasoning. |
