In the latest Language Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education promulgated in 2022,the content on the cultivation of core literacy is explicitly updated,placing the teaching of ancient poetry in junior high schools under the vision of core literacy to explore,which is not only in line with the current educational situation,but also responds to the current social situation.Chinese characters are the symbolic carriers of the Chinese language and carry on our proud Chinese culture,and most of them have rationales for analysis.The teaching of word theory can help students to grasp the interpretation of words and at the same time appreciate the meaning of ancient poems deeply embedded between words and sentences.Through research and practice in recent years,word theory teaching has continued to develop and improve,laying a theoretical foundation for its application to the teaching of ancient poetry.The teaching of ancient poetry in junior high school based on word theory analysis can effectively promote the solid implementation of core literacy,which is of great value and significance.This thesis consists of four chapters.The first part interprets the four aspects of the core literacy of language in the new curriculum,based on which the analysis discusses the new requirements of core literacy for teaching ancient poetry in junior high school language.The second part is an analysis of the necessity and feasibility of applying word theory analysis to the teaching of ancient poetry in junior high school under the concept of the new curriculum.Firstly,an empirical study is conducted in X Middle School in Kunming to reveal the main problems of teaching ancient poetry in junior high school:the neglect of literacy in the formulation of teaching objectives,the selection of teaching contents based on examinations,the single teaching method of lecturing instead of learning,and the conclusion-based teaching mode.The reasons for the problems are analysed from the perspective of core literacy.This book discusses the significance of introducing character analysis into the classroom in the light of specific teaching examples,including the following four aspects: exploring the connotations of Chinese characters to enhance students’ cultural confidence,tracing the origins of Chinese characters to improve students’ language application skills,integrating character forms into poetic contexts to exercise students’ imaginative thinking,and character theory to reveal the connotations of poems to cultivate students’ aesthetic sensibilities.The theoretical rationale for the application of character analysis to the teaching of ancient poetry in junior high school is discussed.In the third part,the principles and strategies for the application of word theory analysis to the teaching of ancient poetry in junior high school are proposed,taking into account the principles of scientificity,creativity,practicality and vividness,and the fact that the teaching of ancient poetry based on word theory analysis should first be based on the eye of the poem,grasping the emotions of the poem as a whole,and then allowing students to explore the original meanings of the Chinese characters by means of shape and meaning in order to gain a deeper understanding of the meaning of the poem,and using word theory This will enable students to analyse and analyse the imagery and mood vividly and to grasp the emotion of the poem.The above requires teachers to continue to further their studies and to improve their teacher training in a practical way.In the fourth part,the author has designed the teaching of the ancient poem "Wild Hope" in the first book of Grade 8 of the Ministry of Education based on the proposed teaching principles and strategies,and has conducted a comparative teaching survey in two different classes in the internship school for reference.
