| In the process of healthy growth of young children, the developmental level of basic motor skills is not only a prerequisite for their physical mobility, but also a foundation for the development of various motor skills in the future.Scientific measurement of children’s basic motor skill development level is a prerequisite for subsequent research on teaching and intervention of young children’s motor skills. In this study, the TGMD-3,the third version of the Test of Gross Motor Development(TGMD-3)developed by Professor Dale A.Ulrich of the University of Michigan, was used to test the basic motor skills of 2487 children in 32 urban and rural kindergartens in Taiyuan,Linfen,Changzhi, and Xinzhou, four prefectures in Shanxi Province.Based on this, the results were analyzed by mathematical and statistical methods for different ages, genders, and urban and rural areas, and their development levels were assessed using the equivalent age norm and seven levels of motor development for 3-6 year olds in China, and finally, interviews were conducted with principals, teachers, and parents of children in an attempt to find factors affecting the development of basic motor skills of 3-6 year olds in Shanxi Province and to propose strategies to cope with them. The purpose of this study is to provide a reference basis for promoting the development of basic motor skills of children aged 3-6 years in Shanxi Province. The study concluded the following:(1)There is a significant age difference in the mastery of basic motor skills among3-6 year olds in Shanxi Province, with the level of basic motor skills increasing with age;there is no significant difference by gender, but female children perform better than male children in mobility motor skills and male children perform better than female children in ball motor skills;there is a significant urban-rural difference, with rural children performing significantly better than urban children in basic motor skills.(2)The seventh level of motor development level shows that the basic motor skills development of children aged 3-6 in Shanxi Province is generally at a medium level; The equivalent age results were more different from the chronological age development level, and were generally higher or lower than their chronological age.(3)The factors affecting the development level of basic motor skills of children aged 3-6 in Shanxi Province mainly lie in children’s physical fitness level, family environment and kindergarten physical activity environment; To improve this situation,we can vigorously carry out diversified sports activities to improve children’s physical fitness, improve the quality of parent-child physical activities, create a good living environment for children, carry out early childhood physical education teacher training, improve the level of physical education, improve the quality of kindergarten venues and equipment, and provide hardware guarantees. |
