Labor literacy is one of the important indicators to measure students’ all-round development.Through labor education,students can acquire the necessary character and key ability to adapt to their future development and the development of society.From the point of view of the state’s concern,the National Education Conference in 2018 elevated labor education to a position relative to moral education,intellectual education,physical education and aesthetic education.In 2022,the Ministry of Education officially issued the Curriculum Standards for Labor Education in the stage of Compulsory Education,indicating that labor education has officially entered a new historical stage.Labor education has the characteristics of long-term,multi-dimensional and flexible,and is a key project to cultivate students’ core quality.Soviet educationist Makarenko believes that labor education cannot exist independently from other education,must be combined with other education,permeating labor education in subject teaching is an important way to carry out labor education.Carrying out labor education in biology teaching can expand students’ learning space,guide students to pay attention to real production and life,help students transfer biological knowledge learned in class to production and life,learn certain labor skills,realize the connection between theory and practice,study and life,and enhance students’ interest in learning biology.Integrating labor education in biology teaching can promote students’ labor consciousness,develop the habit of loving labor,and correct students’ labor concept.At present,studies on how to integrate labor education in biology teaching tend to be more theoretical,and few teachers conduct effective practical studies based on the actual situation of the local and the university.In the process of practice,some studies reveal problems such as scattered activity themes,inconsistent teaching content and simple evaluation methods.There is a natural connection between biology and labor education,and biology teachers have the responsibility and obligation to combine the actual situation in daily teaching to integrate labor education in biology teaching practice.On the one hand,it will deepen students’ understanding of biology knowledge and enhance their interest in biology learning.On the other hand,it will improve students’ labor quality,extend the educational value of biology teaching and help students’ all-round development.On the basis of literature research,this study studied the status quo of students’ labor literacy in each district and county of Chongqing and the status quo of biology teachers’ integration of labor education in teaching through questionnaires and interviews.Text analysis is used to excavate the labor education materials in the first volume of the seventh grade biology of junior high school.In order to solve the problem of scattered educational activities,unit themes are divided into junior biology textbooks,and based on the units of "plants" and "microorganisms",themed labor education activities such as "Horticulture World" are designed and implemented.The following results were obtained:1.The current investigation shows that the overall level of labor literacy of junior middle school students is relatively high and they have a good concept of labor,but their labor ability and habits need to be further improved,as well as their ability to solve practical problems in labor by combining biological knowledge.The number and frequency of biology teachers integrating labor education in teaching are small,and there are some problems such as inadequate interpretation of textbooks,scattered themes of labor education activities and simple educational evaluation.2.Excavate labor education materials in teaching materials and design unit themed labor education activities.Taking the units of "Plants" and "microorganisms" as examples,three themed activities and their sub-activities,namely "The World of Horticulture","Magical Microorganisms" and "The Mystery of Plant Growth",were designed.3.Integrated labor education practice and evaluation was carried out in junior high school biology teaching.The results showed that themed labor education activities significantly improved students’ interest in biology learning and effectively improved students’ labor literacy.To sum up,integrating labor education in junior high school biology can improve students’ labor literacy and increase students’ interest in learning biology,so it is necessary to further popularize it in junior high school biology teaching.Based on the theme of biology unit,labor education activities are conducive to improving students’ comprehensive quality and promoting their all-round development.This study provides some reference basis for integrating labor education in junior biology teaching and has certain theoretical and practical significance.
