The President Xi Jinping said we are supposed to deepen the national unity education,strengthen the exchanges and interactions among different ethnic groups,constantly enhance the recognition of the people of all ethnic groups to the great motherland,the Chinese nation and culture,the Communist Party of China and socialism with Chinese characteristics,instill a sense of Chinese national identity,and ensure all ethnic groups remain as closely united as the seeds of a pomegranate to work jointly for common prosperity and development.Instilling a sense of Chinese national identity is not only a fundamental key to handling the ethnic issues and unity,but a must to realize the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.As successors and builders of the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics,senior high school students shoulder the responsibility and mission of realizing the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.However,their sense of value is being unstable.On the one hand,they are willing to accept the new skills and opinions.On the other hand,they are easily affected by bad trend of thought or negative multi-cultures abroad.Therefore,at this time,it is important for students to instill a sense of Chinese national identity.The ideological and political course in senior high school is the main place of moral education.The new curriculum standard for senior high school(2022 version)illustrates the teaching objectives and core competence of the ideological and political course,which shows that this course should take the responsibility to deepen the national unity education,instill a sense of Chinese national identity to guide students to set up the right sense of value and enhance students’ recognition of our country.The first chapter of this paper is about the introduction,where the author defines the specific meaning of a community for the Chinese nation and the sense of community for the Chinese nation.Also,the author analyse the practical significance of instilling a sense of Chinese national identity in the ideological and political course in senior high school.The second chapter analyze the present conditions.Take Senior High school of Urumqi as an example,the author also uses questionnaires and interviews to find out the present situation about how to arouse students’ sense of community of the Chinese nation.Luckily,we gain some achievements.But we cannot deny the fact that there still exist some problems like teaching resources,teaching methods,teaching assessment and the link between junior high school and senior high school.At the same time,the author gives the reasons.The third chapter talks about the strategies.Based on the theory of sense of community for the Chinese nation and teaching principles of this course,the five“combination” strategies put forward to help the course to instill students’ sense of community of Chinese nation.
