The "2017 Edition of the High School Ideological and Political Curriculum Standards(Revised in 2020)" clearly states that the goal of high school education is to further enhance students’ comprehensive qualities,cultivate their various abilities,and effectively applying the practice teaching method can stimulate students’ learning enthusiasm,improve their comprehensive abilities,and increase the effectiveness of classroom teaching.Therefore,the practice teaching method is indispensable in the teaching of the Philosophy and Culture course in high school.Based on a review of previous research,this article conducts a survey of ideological and political teachers and second-year liberal arts students from two high schools in Luoyang City using questionnaires,interviews,and classroom observation methods.The study analyzed the problems and causes of the current application of the practice teaching method,proposed the principles that should be followed when using the practice teaching method,and corresponding optimization strategies to promote a more scientific application of the practice teaching method in the Philosophy and Culture course.The paper is divided into four parts in addition to the introduction and conclusion.The first part explains the relevant theories of the practice teaching method,including the definition,characteristics,theoretical basis,and application value.The second part discusses the current application status and reason analysis of the practice teaching method in the Philosophy and Culture course.Through analysis of the results of the questionnaire and interviews,the main problems of the practice teaching method include: The forms of practice are relatively monotonous,lacking flexibility.The design of the exercises lacks structure and specificity.The content of the exercises is roughly designed,lacking effectiveness.Some students experience the phenomenon of "practice without mastery".The main reasons for these problems include the negative impact of exam-oriented education and the pressure of college entrance examinations,teachers’ weak awareness and ability to use practice teaching methods,students’ lack of initiative in participating in practice,and the insufficient evaluation mechanism for practice teaching.The third part proposes the principles and strategies for the application of the practice teaching method in the Philosophy and Culture course.To address the problems discussed in the second part,corresponding countermeasures are proposed,mainly including: changing traditional educational concepts and valuing the use of the practice teaching method;improving the comprehensive ability of teachers to use the practice teaching method;and increasing students’ willingness to participate in practice,thereby enhancing the effectiveness of the practice teaching method in the Philosophy and Culture course.The fourth part showcases specific examples of the application of the practice teaching method in the Philosophy and Culture course,taking "The World is Everlasting" as an example to demonstrate the application design of the practice teaching method in actual teaching,and analyzing the achievements and deficiencies of the practice teaching method in application,so as to help teachers fully exert the application value of the practice teaching method.
